I just saw my ex fiancé for the first time in over 20 years last week. We sat outside of a coffee shop for almost 2 hours. It felt just like we were 20 years younger and still dating. I had not anticipated I'd feel the same as I once had. And didn't expect to feel the chills when he reached out to touch my neck or ran his fingers through my hair. It took all my strength not to show that still did something to me. The greatest love, and the biggest heartbreak of my life. I'm grateful we could have that hour and a half together. It means more to me than any amount of money. To feel the warmth of his presence again. I didn't realize how much I missed that. Or him.
@antiquenotdead75 ай бұрын
I KNOW it would be the same for me if I met my first love again. We were torn apart to different continents without warning when my family relocated after a “vacation” that we never returned from. 37 yrs later, I still get goosebumps just thinking of him. That type of love leaves a connection that remains no matter what time or place you find yourself in. I wish him nothing but the best in life.
@muamelanie5 ай бұрын
@@antiquenotdead7 people say "first love" often, but sometimes it truly is the first time that you have felt that kind of connection and chemistry. And it's heartbreaking when something causes it to end. Yours seems so drastic, suddenly moving so far away!!! Mine ended because he had joined the army and his dad pulled some strings to get him into special opps... he wanted to do computers. He didn't know what was going to happen for him, had no idea when I could move with him and didn't want to put either of us through the waiting.

Once an Eagle, always an Eagle! Once an Eagles Fan, always an Eagles Fan! Classic Eagles' folk rock style song with harmonies galore and melodic heaven. For his advancing age his voice is still as strong as 1972 when I stood on a corner in Winslow, Arizona (true story) I will add to my guitar repertoire along with all those other classics from my self taught guitar 35 years ago to "Eagles Complete". Excellent song.

I don't hear this song enough on the radio (nor the other single-worthy songs, besides, "Take A Picture Of This"). I wish they had made an actual music video for this tune, featuring Don and Martina...whenever I hear it, I always picture how the video would look, inc. the roaring fire w/ Don and guitar. The duet with Stevie is a new classic in both of their oeuvres, and sits nicely next to "Leather And Lace"-- radio play, please? It is criminal how this double LP was overlooked at the Grammy Awards of 2016/2017...I thought for sure that Don would pick up at least the award for Best Country Album. I'm not much of a Country Music fan, though, I've always respected it and its history, and its especially American roots; but, Don Henley makes the trip (down South), the experience, and the education as comfortable, powerful, genuine, fun, and memorable as it can be for a City Boy. Thus, this album sits next to Vince Gill's THESE DAYS Box Set/Quadruple LP/CD , as an experience/education that I can always relive/rediscover again. I hope the 2-LP has gone Gold (and then some...like Double Platinum) by now...I'm glad it was a #3 Pop/#1 Country/#1-Overall Seller upon its debut, though, I expected no less. Don, I was literally raised on The Eagles' music since I was a toddler in the mid/late-1970s, so, thank you for the good, diverse work then, since, and beyond. I wish you and The Eagles (along w/ Junior Eagle Deacon) a great Summer performing at the East/West Concerts. Please, tell Mick Fleetwood to make a ginormous Box Set/Quadruple LP/CD/DVD of the best of the proceedings and festivities...$$$...it's certainly a landmark moment for your respective groups, and everyone else that'll be appearing/performing there; so, it definitely warrants posterity. Peace and (Country) Rock 'N' Roll, Sir!

Gosh...this release is like creeper weed. It sneaks up on you before you know you're stoned. Henley was country before country was cool. Unlike many modern practitioners of a genre' dumbed down by the Taylor Swift's of modern music, the depth, sonic clarity (Produced by ex-Heartbreaker Stan Lynch...duh) emotive roots, and the wisdom grown with grey hair follicles ooze from these tracks on "Cass County." As an added bonus, at 68, he can still rock em' back with the best of them. As an unsubtle and shameless hint to my Facebook posse', he's playing the FOX the day before my birthday on November 8th. I'd love to go
