Just WOW! Your skills and craftsmanship, just incredible! Stunning result in every detail! If I may: Did you actively decide against wheel well moldings? And I‘m very much looking forward to see it in the sunshine and driving on the roads! Appreciate the time and effort you put in sharing these videos! Thank you!

The wheel openings have been enlarged to make room for the big tires and wheels so there are no moldings that would fit. Thanks.

I have to ask boss, has anyone ever thought to just do a skin swap on one of the challengers? Rather than all that cutting of the internal skeletal structure, why not leave it in tact like the carbon fiber guys do and just graft Auto Metal Direct 68-70 charger sheet metal onto it??? It'd be cheaper and I'd guess quite a good bit less work but still quite a lot at the same time. Thanks for answering if you choose to, God bless!
@SteveMirabelli3 ай бұрын
The carbon fiber guys invested in highly modified parts to be able to apply them to the skinned structure. They are nowhere near the proportions of the AMD sheet metal. Bottom line is the AMD stuff would not fit.
@ChargerusPrime3 ай бұрын
@@SteveMirabelli well that's a bit of a spirit breaker. Heh. I know the AMD stuff wouldn't fit put of the gate but could they be grafted on and made to fit? The proportions aren't that far off in terms of wheelbase length. The pitch of the C pillars which line the rear windshield have the same degree of slant as the 68-70 chargers at least from my untrained eye. I guess I'm just trying to be more hopeful than I probably should be
@SteveMirabelli3 ай бұрын
@ChargerusPrime it is pretty far off. The floor of the Challenger to the roof is 3 inches taller than the old Charger. The windshield is such that you would have to shorten the hood at the back about a foot. The roof is way wider on the Challenger. Then the quarter glass is the wrong shape. On and on. Don't think I have not considered this approach. It all just looks out of shape by the time you make all the modifications.
@ChargerusPrime3 ай бұрын
@@SteveMirabelli well I'm not after it to be perfect. The carbon fiber guys don't make it look precisely like a real 68-70 charger as you have with excellent work I might add. More or less I'm after a look along the lines of what SixTwleve and what Exomod carbon does. But I guess at that point I may as well just forget about it. My goal was to do this sort of thing with less work and less money involved. That's not possible. Unless someone starts to make dies out of carbon fiber panels and casting them in metal.
@SteveMirabelli3 ай бұрын
@ChargerusPrime its about $20,000 worth of sheet metal and accessories so if you like the EXoMod look. Totally doable.
