Ingredients: 1 octopus, cleaned and beak removed water for boiling Salt and pepper, to taste 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil Juice of 1 lemon Instructions: Thoroughly wash the octopus under running water and remove the beak. Bring a pot of water to a boil, reduce the heat so the water continues to simmer. Dip the octopus into the water three times, then submerge it and boil for about 20-30 minutes per pound. Check with a knife to see whether the meat is tender, and continue boiling until it is. Remove the octopus from the water. In a small bowl, make a marinade by mixing together the olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Place the octopus in the marinade and refrigerate for at least a few hours, or overnight if possible. Preheat the grill to searing temperatures (around 400-500 degrees). Cut the octopus into pieces, and grill until it is crispy and charred. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Great visual tip to cut off some of the tips while grilling so they don’t get too charred. Have t seen other recipes where they marinade it put I’d imagine the lemon further helps to soften it up. I am going to upload a new video with Octopus next week and I’ll cut off the tentacles first. Easier to move around and grill. Marinade, the marinade is after boiling the octopus so it’s fully cooked at that stage. The grilling is just for that bit of texture, crust and Smoky flavor. Totally fine to put it back in the marinade or pour the marinade on top.
