So refreshing to hear someone advising creators to be unique, instead of following trends. Be a trendsetter, not a trend follower. ✨✨
@meaningofreason26 күн бұрын
There are no “trendsetter” without trend followers; and vice versa, as much as there is no song without a listener. It’s not about either/or as much as it’s about realizing there’s something which grounds both, the audience and the creator; that’s why we do what we do, it provides meaning to what we do.
@ameliaroseillustrations26 күн бұрын
@@meaningofreason That’s a really valid point!

I have to say, you've given us a beautiful example with this video. The almost square 4:3 aspect ratio, mic in shot, background split into plain dark brown and light brown, and crisp, concise speech while looking us in the eyes create an old-school public broadcasting announcement vibe without being painfully obviously retro.
@lbrtvlldr21 күн бұрын
Right?! This dummy told people to be unique while being a copycat of all those other rich American KZbinrs. It's a joke! The worst part is that judging from this comment section, many people can't even see it.

I love this perspective! It's so refreshing to see someone shift the focus from 'content creation' to 'artistic expression'. It reminds us that the heart of creativity lies in the process, not just the end product. Thanks for sharing this insightful message!

I’ve been thinking about KZbin at the moment and like you said how the creativity feels almost lost in some areas, you made some really interesting points. I do also think that when you start out, it’s normally inspired by someone. So you will most likely make videos very similar to them but then eventually add more of yourself into it and without realising it you are slowly creating your own style. 😊 love the style of this video

Your perception of the world is slightly unique. If you keep following your instincts and making a bunch of tiny personalized choices you will eventually end up in a place where your work is unique because it's filtered through your own unique perspective of the world. -Rick Rubin

I'm a creator wanting to do KZbin full time as well. I've fallen intro the trap of trying to do things for views, to grow faster etc many times... However, the last couple of months I've been more inspired by creators like Gawxx, Sleepycharlie, Andrewpaul01 etc. and I'm finally at a place where I feel like I know what kind of art I want to make. This is a very welcome video for the creator community, very authentically delivered. You got a new sub!

This was a good vid. My parents passed away years ago and I made a film when I was at a hard place in my life. That film means the world to me, and I made it only for myself. That's how I go about creating any passion projects going forward. If my goals and heart align with the project, then I'm gonna make it. Working with Sony, a KZbinr I admired, these things are amazing when they first happen. But the only thing that will truly fulfill you as an artist is if you make art that comes from the depths of you. You can't be afraid to let people see who you really are. Not everyone will like what you make, or like you for that matter. As long as you stay true to yourself, and realize that ultimately the process of creating is the goal, you will live a fulfilling creative life. Thanks for reading.

This came to me in a perfect time. I recently saw a reel that said, "You are what you think about. " This video expertly builds on that sentiment. My aspirations are to be creative, but I'm still trying to figure out how to piece my sensibilities together and how I want my voice to be represented. Finding inspiration is definitely an aspect, as is a gallon of luck and curiosity. I greatly appreciate this video and have been a subscriber since the early days. PS: I started editing when I was 10 too! :)

I'm so happy this was recommended to me, the timing is insane... I've been working on videos, stopped working on them because I am incredibly perfectionistic, I even prefer bad grades in school, because I don't give the teachers my essay or my artwork / design (I'm on a Media Design School) than it being imperfect. I've never watched it from that angle- Thank you for posting this video, your editing style is very good and makes me feel comfortable listening to you, very good sound design! Loving the process, not the outcome... That's one thing I won't forget.
