I totally agree with heavy products.. it makes the hair so limp looking. Great tips. I had to subscribe

THIS CHANNEL HAS SAVED MY BABIES FINE LOW POROSITY THICK HAIR. She and I both were frustrated and in tears trying to find a way to care for her beautiful hair. I finally tried some of your tricks. I put her hair in twist for a month. That made a huge difference! Yes it required patience so I created a relaxing environment before I started. Then I saw your video about keeping it in a stretched state. In my head I thought “ O good grief let me prepare myself for her fussing!” Lol. This time I shampooed and deep conditioned her hair in the large twist. THAT WAS A GAME CHANGER! It cut my time by 1hr because I didn’t have to take down the twist. Once I was done with conditioning under the dryer with a cap, all I had to do was blow dry her roots straight as I took down each large twist. I redid it in mini twist, clipped her ends, and put her silk scarf on at night. It’s been 3mths with no crying, stretched shiny hair, healthy ends, beautiful mini twist, and I can see the growth! She has very minimal shedding. Everybody ask what kind of hair I used to do her twist. It’s her natural hair in mini twist to her shoulders. Our problem was dryness from harsh shampoo, heavy products and oils, wrong protective styles, and no patience lol 😂. This time I used a dime size of sulfate free shampoo with tea tea tree oil and pre poo before I started. Shampoo ONLY on the roots! Now it’s 3 months without shampooing and we STILL don’t need to because of light products! THANK YOU 🙏 SO MUCH for this channel! Even my husband is happy lol 😂!

I'm glad I stopped relaxing my hair, exactly 20 years ago. My hair is also a mixture of fine and medium hair strands. The finer hair strands are at the back, the sides and at the front. For so many years the back and the sides of my hair continuously broke off and I never knew why... For 2 years now I have learned what was wrong with my hair, and because of that my hair is on it's way to reach my armpit 🙃 😅

Great tips! I have fine/medium/ thick hair strands and high density and porosity. My hair constantly lives in twists every 2-3 weeks. I no longer do box braids, high puffs, baby hairs because over time my edges thinned out. When I was relaxed I was always wearing my hair in a tight bun which caused my hairline to receed. I've been natural for almost 5 years now. My hairline is still thin but it looks better than how it use to be. Since I have fine/medium/thick hair strands and high density my hair doesn't really get weighed down when using hair butters. But I do use lighter oils on my hair.
@ObaaYaaJones4 жыл бұрын
My hair typically lives in twists as well for the first time in 9 years I decided to do this style. I also have thin edges. (they have always been thin) however my temple thinned out more due to iron deficiency (I'll make a video soon talking about it) Glad you found the video helpful 🤎

I always find an endless amount of splits in my hair. I use the search and destroy method a lot more than trims. Since I do not want to unnecessarily cut, when it’s not needed. Even when I cut I find another in the same section. But thanks for the tips I’ll definitely apply it to my hair for more improvement.
@ObaaYaaJones4 жыл бұрын
Splits are unfortunately inevitable. As long as they aren't too many, it's normal to have a few. Also, have you considered changing your hair scissors, perhaps it's not sharp anymore and can cause splits because it cuts bluntly.

I never really thought about replacing my shears. Thanks Obaa Yaa Jones, I’ll definitely invest in a new set and see how it goes.

I have high density and fine hair !!! And what it helping me to retain my length it’s finger detangling ! Comb it’s the worst things for my hair especially brush ! When I have relaxed hair my hair was sooo hard it was the worst thing I’ve done with my hair
@ObaaYaaJones4 жыл бұрын
Honestly, when I was mainly finger detangling, I was able to retain more length. However the longer my got, the longer detangling took. So I compromised and now do a mixture of combing and finger detangling.

Loved your video ✨. But do you have any tips for people who swim (me) everyday I have high porosity , and fine hair . Should I deep condition weekly or bi- weekly
@ObaaYaaJones4 жыл бұрын
I would recommend you deep condition everytime you wash your hair. Because of the chlorine in the water, you have to wash your hair often in order to avoid it drying out your hair.
@philenastyles59184 жыл бұрын
Obaa Yaa Jones thx you so much I am starting to wash my hair weekly but I started doing protective styles ( braids or plaits that aren’t too small because that was not helping my hair before) , like big braids or cornrows. Should I leave them in for two weeks or one month because that’s the time I think I should leave them in?
@ObaaYaaJones4 жыл бұрын
@@philenastyles5918 I'd say you can leave them in for 4 weeks, then you give your hair a lil break before reinstalling any new style.

Hi 👋🏽 am a new subs... can I use the Jamaican black castor oil on my thin/ fine hair or is that oil too heavy for my thin hair??
@ObaaYaaJones4 жыл бұрын
You might want to use a light weight oil to "dilute" it, a carrier oil like almond or jojoba oil.
