@ they flashed the transmission and in other words, think I’m crazy because of course the transmission decided to run strong at that time, but every so often it jerks when you turn it on slams into gears and slips, both shifting and downshifting in certain gears. I still have 11,000 miles on the warranty. I feel your pain though I’ve saved so much for so long to get my dream truck and now I’ve had to drop all this cash getting it rebuild for it only to start acting up again. I’m so pissed off at Ford.

We got a 2024 king ranch a couple months ago. Needed a new transmission at 10,000 miles. 500 miles after that it’s back in the shop with more problems with the drivetrain. Now the truck seems to be slightly slipping between 3-4th gear but the dealer “can’t replicate” the problem.

That’s wild, you would think they'd be able to figure it out by now. Is that truck a gasser or a diesel? It’s been less than 15,000 miles since my new trans, and I feel like I’m starting to notice some signs of declining health already.

I just purchased a used 2021 F-350 with the 6.7 and the 10 speed with 65,000 miles. When I test drove it, it was not slamming into gear but it was downshifting weird when I slowed to a stop at a light. The dealer told me they needed to service it before they sold it to me and they would look at it, so I went through with the purchase. When I picked it up after I purchased it they said they did a relearn on the transmission and everything was good, it started to slam into 1st gear when I put it into drive when I left the dealership. I thought it was part of the relearn process. After day 3 of it doing that I made an appointment at the dealer I purchased it from for them to look at the transmission again. They have had it for 3 weeks at this point and still haven't given me a straight answer on what exactly is wrong with the truck. It is a Gold certified truck so everything is covered but still sucks that I've made the first payment on it and have only been able to drive it for less than a week. The only loaner vehicle they had at the time was an f-150 with a 5-1/2ft bed (I bought an f-350 for a reason). So yes BUYER BEWARE. I love the truck and the amazing power it makes and the way it looks but the dealership/ownership experience so far has been absolutely horrible.

I have a 2021 6.7l with what I think is the same transmission. it's in for service today, but it's been holding together pretty well. I have noticed some odd shifting at times when it's cold. When I bought the truck I bought the 100K mile warranty that cover it bumper-2-bumper,.. so I figure it'll be covered until then.

It may be worth getting the fluid checked before the truck hits 100k miles, just to make sure there’s no hidden surprises in there.

They did in fact do a repair replacing the Main Control Valve Body with an updated one (LC3Z-7A100-F) on the 2024 and the incident rate of issues has really dropped...Ford's problems will increase in 2025 when they make the 10R140 gets replaced with the much lighter duty 10R080 and 10R100 in their Super Duty. I hope they get you fixed up.

@@BocksGarage If you buy the 2025 F250 and not the F350 or TREMOR...you'll not get the 10R140...but the 10R100 instead. That was a push to get a higher mpg as it's a lighter transmission. The new Lariat doesn't come with leather interior anymore either, ActiveX...(and it has a distinct "odor")...no power tilt steering either and a few other reductions in options but, they raised the price though....LOL...

Ford had the virtually indestructible 6 speed in their super duty trucks but then teamed up with GM to share the new 10 speed. Any involvement with gm on transmissions made me afraid to upgrade my 2017, so, I’m keeping my current truck.

Ford just replaced my 2021 f350 10r140 transmission with 53,000 miles on it. It’s weird cause I read on google that the average life span of this transmission is 100-120k miles but we’re only getting half that.

This isn’t happening on 6.7s? I thought there was only minor changes on the transmissions between the two engine styles. As for the replacement trans I had installed, my Ford rep doesn’t believe it’s an updated trans, so it’s likely prone to the same issues.

@@BocksGarageFords 10 speeds have issues with knowing what gear to shift into, my coworkers all have 10 speed 6.7s that shift at the weirdest times. I know it’s kind of an issue with the 6.7, I can imagine having a gas engine would make that even worse. When did you get your transmission fluid done? I know they recommend 45k, but honestly we have been doing them every 30k just to be safe.

Yeah, it’s definitely a widespread issue. Since having the trans replaced it’s been night and day. Even way before it failed, it apparently was never right, or just not right for a long time. As for trans fluid replacement, the manual claims a service life of 150k miles, so I had never replaced mine.

@@BocksGarage I’m not worried about the power train. I’m worried about all the electronics and cheap microchips in everything that will fail after 2-3 years. That’s why we need longer warranty. It’s the only way to hold the automakers accountable for what they’re producing. Most people need 72-84 months to pay the car off. Warranty should be for as long as the loan period so people aren’t fucked with repair bills while still paying off the car.
