Most lawyers are not on your side, and I’m close to them and the judges for which I routinely attend fundraisers. I went through a divorce with a trial lawyer which most judges hate. I escaped with no alimony, no child support and 50/50 custody - which is considered a win in a state which awards 80% custody to mothers. I know other men who got an idiot lawyer who is eventually going to fleece their client. Judges don’t want a trial. In fact most lawyers do not make money, unless they are top of their practice. You see divorce is a 55 billion dollar industry and growing. I’m just here as you to help other men, so don’t take it the wrong way.

There was talk for a long time that men benefited most from marriages. That their health was observably better, they lived longer, etc. I think men DO benefit greatly from a female in their lives, but the data can be misinterpreted bc in modern standards all that means is a committed monogamous relationship would really do the same for a man. You don't ACTUALLY need to get married. It was the honorable thing for a man to do years ago bc it provided safety to his woman, but nowadays men are the ones hurt most by divorce, and woman in my generation are outearning the men. I know I'm reluctant to ever do it and men my age that I know, a significant portion wait a long time or just don't tie the knot. Even the ones that do it usually theyre well off, their parents are well off and married etc. But I'd say the guys I know from divorced homes, theres a ton that aren't married and I think it's bc they see it as dangerous for them. Monogamy isn't. Humans have evolved to be monogamous for tens of thousands of years. You can argue serial monogamy, which fair enough, but all the more reason to just prioritize relationships, yes, but there's probably no reason to get married. I think of that dude Kurt Russell, he's been with Goldy Hawn for like 40 years - never married. In some ways Hollywood is ahead of the curve, bc these actors are definitely told by their managers don't get the law involved in your relationships, it'll be a legal nightmare for you. Marriage, remember, was also a societal pressure for MEN, not just women. It was really poor form to date a girl seriously for so long and not provide her stability and peace of mind with marriage. That's bc women really needed financial security from their partner. They don't now. That's abundantly clear.
