There are "The Beatles" -- and then there's everything else. They kicked the door down and made possible all that followed. And they continue to outsell everyone else.
@jeanmichel62559 күн бұрын
The range of genres they performed in there carrer span is huge. For some "classic rock" you could go with "Help!", or "Ticket to Ride", if you want psychodelic stuff, there is "Strawberry Fields Forever" or "I am the Walrus", and if you want heavier rock stuff you can go with "Helter Skelter", "I want you (she is so heavy)" or "Revolution.

Paul plays everything 😂 bass, piano guitar, and even drums in some tracks on the white album

And Paul isn't *just* a bass player. He's a very good bass player. His bass lines are often very inventive and add a whole new dimension to a song.

Billy Preston on keyboard, the only artist to get label credits with the group. Billed as The Beatles with Billy Preston on the #1 hit in the USA called Get Back😮😊Billy would make music history after the Beatles broke up by becoming the first recording artist to hit #1 with an instrumental and then hit #1 with a vocal hit.😮Billy Preston/Outa Space (instrumental)😊Billy Preston/Will It Go Round In Circles(Vocal)😊ENJOY!

He didn't receive credit at the time and not for a long time. Heck - the film's director made sure the cameramen NEVER included Billy's face much less his hands and voice singing and playing. Even with the "restored" footage, Billy's only briefly shown because the cameramen were told not to video him. Stupid record label restrictions. Clapton didn't on WHILE MY GUITAR, nor did Nicky Hopkins for his playing. Of course, George and Eric used a pseudonym for George's guitar playing on BADGE during the concert and recroding of Cream's GOODBYE album. There's footage of those concert nights but the cameras were shut off when George is brought out, as well as the audience reaction's being sliced out. None of the other celebs that appeared in the ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE were credited.

Billy Preston is the keyboard player - you briefly see him in the shot with the English police constables. He was only on the album this song was on, but he made very good contribution to the sound.

I think Preston added a really unique almost R&B edge to the tracks he played on. And, surprisingly, it fitted very well. The tracks would sound quite different without him.

More Beatles? Definitely! Preferably a lot more, because they have many good songs and have a wide variety of sounds, so you have to hear quite a few of their songs to be able to hear the many different kinds of things that they did. Since you call yourself "Metal Teen", you should hear "Helter Skelter", which is a precursor to metal. But also check out their early stuff, their folk rock, their psychedelic rock, their rockers, their ballads, etc.

They were a really tight band. They had played thousands of hours together, in Hamburg clubs ^ , Liverpool long before they were famous

Ringo and Paul are both left-handed, and both played the drums. Ringo used a right -handed kit, which in part gives him a unique sound.

If you want to hear something more heavy and metal sounding Beatles' music then react to Helter Skelter. Just make sure it's the original version from The White Album an d not any live version later done by a very old Paul McCartney on his own. By the way, yes Paul was the bass player in the band but he also played guitar and drums and piano on certain Beatles' recordings. Paul can play a lot of instruments.
@papercup25178 күн бұрын
Also he needs to watch out for Spanish(?) captioned covers posing as the real thing - a lot of reactors have fallen for them, through no fault of their own. Best to find an official version, though it will need to be heavily masked for copyright reasons.

Paul joked about how he didn't "get" to play guitar in the band. It sort of explains why his bass lines are so melodic and adventurous.

The original rooftop which U2 copied. It was also the last time The Beatles played together, they broke up soon after.

It should not be forgotten, that Jefferson Airplane played a rooftop concert before the Beatles, of course it received much less attention.

More of the Beatles would be nice. The Beatles weren't around for that long, but as time went on, they added more types/genres of songs to their repertoire. For the first few years that they were making records, their music was pure, classical rock and roll. Actually, that's the type of music that first made them famous. They are: John Lennon: Rhythm George Harrison: Lead Paul McCartney: Base Ringo Starr (Richard Starkey): Drums In this number, their friend Billy Preston is off to the side somewhere with the organ.

This was an imprompyu concert on the roof. You can see policemen in the video who were asking to shut it down because a crowd was gathering in the street outside the building.

Very good commentary. This is the last live performance - cold, lousy speakers, upstairs from their studio - impromptu performance for people walking down on the streets wondering who the hell is making that racket? Police called, and you can see them in the background. Other Beatles song - Live version of HEY JUDE on the FROST TV show. As well live - QUEEN live in Montreal "SOMEONE TO LOVE" both great live performances where the talent comes through. The stops between the song to comment are great/ Don't listen to others to have no commentary until the end./

If you want to hear Paul's 'rock voice' check out "I've Got A Feeling" which is also from this rooftop session. In all honesty if you only thought The Beatles were a rock and roll band you're misinformed. They were certainly classified a rock but they have many different sounds and influences in their music catelogue.
