Always after 3 kings day! Takes so long to put up I find I only enjoy it after the 25th and all the commotion is over! Love it on New Year’s Eve, so magical! What’s the rush anyway? Nothing magical about January - why not enjoy all the twinkle lights in our cozy homes while its snowy and cold outside! 🙋🏼‍♀️🇨🇦🎄🎄🎄🎄

One thing I like to do in January and February is to dejunk and reorganize my house. i’m too busy to be depressed.😉 I’m gonna try to go for more of a minimalist look and go from there. Thank you for your storage tips. I’m gonna be incorporating a few.

Congrats on making it to Luxury Home Show! We’re leaving up the indoor Christmas decor for a little while after Christmas. I’m expecting our first daughter in late Jan - early Feb and want her to see all the pretty things when she gets home. So, we’ll probably leave the tree up until March this year. 🤣 🎄 Love the idea of transitioning to a chalet style! We’re in the Sierra Nevada mountains, with a tall, vaulted wood ceiling, so it’s very apropos for after the tree finally comes down. 😏

When our children were little and still living at home, it was a tradition in our family to put the Christmas tree up on the First of December and take it down on the 2nd of January, that way we enjoyed all the decorations on New Year’s Day, this year you wouldn’t know it’s Christmas at my home 😢, I don’t have any Christmas decorations up, not even my tree, which I got rid of my big old one in January, thinking I would purchase a new Balsam Hill Christmas Lighted Tree but I’m not in the Spirit of Christmas this year 😢, hopefully next year will be better, I’m living my Christmas through others like You Valentina who’s home looks absolutely Amazingly Decorated for the Christmas Season. Thank you for your Knowledge and Experience that you share here on your channel and other platforms. Wishing You, Jack and Your Family a Wonderful, Joyful and Blessed Christmas from Queensland Australia 🧑🏻‍🎄🎅🏻🎄❄️☃️

*Festive Season vs. Winter Styling* . I don't style festive season with items that are overly "themey" . As I live in Upstate NY, we don't enter into Spring mode until late March. I have no issues taking down the tree, mantle garland, bows and glittery festive season touches. While it a pain not to pack all items away at the same time, I do leave some Winter greens around and fairy lights. The shiny metallics are replaced with vintage cut glass items, I'm always thinking about my interior mimicking the outside. The cozy textiles stay. White floral arrangements invoke a neutral vibe. I keep a bin labeled Transitional for hold over items.

A few years ago I made custom under-bed storage boxes for my ornaments like yours and bags out of bubble wrap for each ornament. Making custom boxes meant that I could use the maximum space and put 2.5 times the amount in each box than the closest store bought container which was only a couple of inches smaller on both sides.

You can also leave your tree up for Valentine decorations if you're into red/pink theme. I got the idea from a friend who would leave her tree up and majority of her decorations but switched out the theme to lunar new year (so basically all red/gold). It make sense since February is still a cold month for a pine tree in the house!

I've always said...how many Christmas seasons do we have in life? Many are spent as children, then much later in life, elders usually go to their kid's homes.. so how many years do we have to decorate and host and enjoy the way WE alone want to where we are decorating our way where we make the rules?? I'll say also that it depends where you live. Where I'm at in the northern Midwest, we sometimes don't even get snow until January, so having the Christmas tree still up for a little while DOESN'T feel as strange as it would in the south. Also, putting the tree up around Thanksgiving, a month is just not long enough, so I don't take anything down until later in January. December is so busy that I'm not home enough to enjoy it all 😢 so for a few weeks after Christmas is just for me to enjoy... where I have time finally to relax, watch Christmas movies, enjoy just staring at the tree and gifts for hours if I want...whatever. Its MY personal Christmas time without having to focus on everyone else. We're adults...we can do what we want! Much love to you and Jack and your family ❤

I’ve been DIYing texture on vases, lamps and planters and painting them black or white, and doing the same on cheap baubles in gold, copper, black, silver, etc. I’ve painted some galvanised bells an antique bronze colour so now I’ve got sets of bells in rust, antique gold, gold, charcoal and galvanised too. It’s so much fun getting ready for next year and an easy way to wind down after Christmas even though I’m doing it now while I’ve had the ornaments out. My homemade wreath has a few black leafy stems in amongst the greenery and I don’t feel like adding pine cones or anything else to it at the moment except for one of the painted bells. I may change around some of artwork after Christmas for a new look. I don’t feel settled this year enough to fully decorate so I’ve just put out a few things. The DIYs are helping me through depression and keeping me off the couch which is the main goal while bringing in the Christmas spirit. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! ❤

I’ve been thinking of this very thing after building my new house and moving in late August. I loved decorating it and want a winter decor theme. Can you please show us how to decorate the outside as well? My front porch looks wonderful with all the lights and pine roping, wreaths, etc. but it’s very Christmas-y. I want it to look just as pretty after the holidays. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

I read once to put a few fragrant dryer sheets into your storage bins because mice don’t like the smell. I can’t say if this is the reason but in 23 yrs we’ve never had a mouse go into our holiday bins or anything we store in our extra one car garage. I put a couple at the very bottom, a couple in the middle and a couple on top. I do change out the sheets every couple of years.

As someone from Eastern Europe I'm leaving decorations at least until mid January. I used to be sad when removing the decorations because I never had much decor in my home so removing everything made it feel empty and uninviting. Watching your channel I realized that you can decorate year round. I've been on the hunt for vases, candles, bowls, branches, so that once Christmas is over I won't have an empty home.

If people stop putting the winter decor up in FALL, they won’t be tired of it come Christmas. It’s GORGEOUS, and if you remove all the Santa decor but keep the white brown green silver, gold and blue until mid Jan it’s quite nice. The red can be kept until Valentine’s Day. ❤ Winter decor is great all winter!

The issue with the zip top ornament box is that if you want to see what each layer has it's kindof a juggling act to take a layer off without bulbs falling all over the place and possibly breaking. If the layers had sides it would be much better.

I will remove my Christmas trees first, probably the first week in January. I'll leave up my garland and winter snow village through January. These items don't scream Christmas as much as the trees do. I have two winter wreaths I made to replace the Christmas wreaths. By end of January, I'm decorating my home with a little hint of V-day, with new wreaths and some embroidery decor I made that I love. Soon after V-day, I put out my early spring wreaths, even though it's still winter in Colorado. When I had a different job, we decorated the front office with very little decor, following weather, events, seasons, etc. We did it on a miniscule budget. It gave me new ideas for home decor, striving for elegance, not tacky. If we challenge ourselves to just have a hint of seasonal decor after Christmas, we still have something to look forward to all year, right?!

I like to think I’m more open minded until dogmatic comes up in NET therapy. That’s when I say, “Oh man!” but know that that’s why I’m in therapy and it’s going to be cleared it out of my body! Love the idea of the meme game. I took a photo of my old goat with her hair in knotted balls on the end of her horns like she was Princess Leia. I added, “Horn bling or bad hair day?” to it as a meme. She’d been scratching out her softer winter fluff and the wind hadn’t yet carried it away. 😂
