I am SO DELIGHTED that someone else has noticed the pigeon situation!! We visited Paris this year and I was like..... wtf is wrong with all the pigeons?? Ours are giant and plump and beautiful, and theirs I'd be able to assign names to because of the various unique deformities they got going on. 😬

Hilarious when Jeff explained the lazy police in Rome.😂 So spot on! Also, I regard the mullet as the Crocs of hairdos...! Why would they bring that back into fashion? PS: For once, I agree with the government. Marrying and having kids with your own blood relatives is called *inbreeding* here in Denmark. I thought it was already illegal, not just insane or stupid. The offspring often have deformities and play the banjo all day, which is nature's way of saying "Don't inbreed!"😙👍

It's illegal to marry your closest relatives: parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren and siblings. But that seems to be it, currently 🤷🏼♀️

I didtn even know we hade cousinds actualy still doing that here in Denmark. I also thought it was already not alowed by law . Plus we all learned (or atleast was told) in school its a bad thing to do, and explaned why in detail. I also recall being told how many generation was "needed" for it to have no "effect" of doing so in school. So i honestly dont understand why any was still doing this at all.

It's actually quite simple (no pun intended 🙄: There's nothing wrong with you marrying a cousin - genetically, and therefore not juridically. It's when YOUR kids marry a cousin, who's parents were your parent's cousin, you start getting funny children 😵💫 In the Gulf States e.g. they traditionally marry cousins one generation after an other - AND when a child has disability, they'll marry him off to a cousin with the same disablity... And "suddently" 10% of the population is deaf. How the fåk did the Norweigian become so good looking 🤔 Edit: Sweden might have a good reason to stop those "traditional" cousin marriages...

It is illegal for ancestor and decendant to marry, and for two people sharing at least one parent. That is all.

Ørnethology? Kongeørnen is not called "golden" in Danish. I was told in school, back in the 60's and 70's, that there are three kinds of eagles. What they meant is that there used to be three species of eagle in Denmark. There were none at the time. Since then, two has come back. First the sea eagle, the largest eagle of all. Then the king eagle, called golden eagle in English. The smallest, the fishing eagle, called osprey in English, has yet to return.

The wandering (peregrine) falcon was almost extinct here too.. but it's recovering, which I take as a good sign that our efforts to return unused farmland to nature is working. We really need those birds of prey to come back to curb the pigeons and seagulls (especially seagulls as they're all protected by Danish law, you can only hunt them with a special permit, and they are everywhere).

I don't think the Swedes' issue is them marrying cousins. It's rather that Swwdes are facing other cultures, who traditionally marry cousins one generation after an other. There's "opholdstilladelser" in family unification....... When 3rd generation Swedes "import" yet an other cousin they've married... perhaps under some pressure 🙃 the entire family is happy 🥰 I've seen Danish pupils, who had the world in front of them, "failling in love" with a cousin, getting him/her to Denmark, putting on a scarf/dropping the Friday beer with the collegues - and they lived happily ever after. In a parallel society

saying that dealing with the false self-employment thing is behind the times, seems very uncalled for. when its a loophole that has come into existence due to technological advancement. and there are numerous exsample of the same issues in both the USA and in the British isles. also... doing what you like, and charge people for it... isnt that kinda what a comedian does? :P

first cousin marriage is legal in the UK and several US states as well, so the two of you can climb down off your high horse.

I think the point here is that we find Denmark to be more advanced and civilized than UK and US in many respects, so it came as a surprise. Many of us literally hold Denmark in higher esteem than our home countries. It's a compliment, friend.

Haha, præcis...! Jeg troede faktisk allerede det *var* ulovligt i DK. Selvfølgelig vil det ramme visse tilflyttere, men der _er_ jo heldigvis andre lande at bo i.
