Hey All, just wanted to give you all a heads up about the Tux Guitar Program that I've included. The program is showing the KEY OF C and is playing in the KEY OF C... On the video and with the Capo 4, we are now in the KEY OF E, which is a BIG DIFFERENCE!! So when you play along with the TUX GUITAR file, you have to take the Capo off! I will keep trying to figure out how to transpose Tux without changing the tab. If anyone out there would know how to do it, let me know okay... bob
@yandeni6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Bob, for your efforts. After some research on the web, it seems that only Guitar Pro proposes this feature and others subtleties for "geeks". Personally I mainly use Tux Guitar to learn respecting tempo and improving performance. Even without capo Tux serves as a step to assimilate the song until it is "in the fingers". I hope you will not spend too much time trying to figure out how to transpose Tux!
@CaffeineJogger6 жыл бұрын
For me same.. although tone is different tux is still a good exercise changing chords in time.

Hey Viv, just to let you know, the only difference between the initial pattern I taught way back in Fingerpicking For Beginners and Thumb over Thumb is, the Tover T plays all 8 notes in the measure (1&2&3&4&) ... Interesting that adding the 1& and the 4& could make such a difference. As an aside, glad the GDPR stuff is finished. It was complex but I think (hope ) everything is okay bow... thanks Viv!!

Hey Steve, I remember when you couldn't play at all, and now look!! Amazing what some effort will do. I think that the best way to look at this sort of thing is watching how fast time goes by, and then imagining yourself in say a year being able to play. Taking things slow and working on it as you have, now the learning gets faster and faster since you have a good foundation. I'm really proud of you man, and when I hear how you are doing it makes me feel so good and reminds me why I'm doing this in the first place,.. you are appreciated my friend!!

Hi Bob, I am enjoying the thumb over thumb applied to additional songs. Question.... How would you use the thumb over thumb pattern playing the major D chord?
@bobharris14976 жыл бұрын
Hey Jack, funny you should ask... it's in this song and the same strings as the D7sus2 chord here. Regular D would be the same - strings 4, 2, 3, 1... In Larry's version (or that is Bob Dylan's version) he wrapped his thumb around to fret the 6th string 2 frets up, and used that as the bass note. So if you could do such a thing, that would be 6, 3, 4, 2 on that form of a D chord. Hope this helps Jack.. happy pickin!! bob

Hi Bob, while training with Tux Guitar I have been surprised that the sound is quite different from what i hear in the video. I first thought my guitar was wrong tuned! In fact TG does not take into account the position of the capo on the 4th fret. I guess it is normal and deliberate and there is nothing to do for matching TG file with the capo position. Right ? Thanks!!!

Hey Viv, I forgot to mention that the tux guitar files is in the key of C, and we are capo 4 in E... YES VERY VERY DIFFERENT>> ... in fact, I don't know how to solve this problem. Transposing on Tux will put it in the Key of E, but then all the Tab changes.... Tux as far as I know doesn't compensate for the capo... I need some help with this but don't know what to do...

@AcousticGuitarVideosLessons2 жыл бұрын
Hey Cody, big thanks for taking the lesson here and yes, singing is near impossible for almost anyone at a slow speed so it's not you. It's really the guitar that benefits from the slower tempos and the acceleration at which we can learn things. The voice is a miraculous instrument that we don't have to know what notes we are singing, learn tab or slow things down in order to carry a tune. Hopefully with some work the guitar will catch up. Hope you have a great guitar (and vocal) weekend! bob

On another note, I played a gig with Rick Danko and Levon Helm at the Lonestar Cafe years ago in NYC. Who walks in but Dylan. Guess the word on the street got out and the place was filled instantly wall to wall. Dylan was as nice as could be and I got to hang with him after the show a while. This has almost no melody. I don’t play the way Dylan did because Dylan can’t play the guitar. I play melody and harmony and alternating base, the way finger style is supposed to work. Plus the Dylan D7 uses the F# on the sixth string. That is the hallmark of the song.
