I have to say you are correct this is for a person who buys memorabilia and such just like the coins and bills. We all know these sort of things are made on a budget. It’s a well made in China budget guitar. Only a Trumper would spend the money. Personally I would never pay that much for a $300 guitar. Keep in mind A) nobody wins in a trade war, I cannot believe that has to be said, and B) tariffs are going to massively raise prices of everything, not bring back manufacturing jobs, nor will it push people to buy American, as the companies doing stuff domestically are going to be raising their prices as well, again, can't fuckin believe this has to be stated. We have a completely unfettered oligarchy coming into power this month. The combined wealth of trumps appointed cabinet members is roughly 2500× that of Bidens. This is fucking absurd. @@IracesGarage I think the reason why people see it as a scam, is because its a cheaply made guitar that is made with cheap electronics, and even seems to have a cheap sticker with gloss finish, and its selling for a price that someone can buy a full on American Made Gibson Guitar for.. Some people don't see the trump name and think, yeah that adds value, when it comes to guitars. People will see "Gibson" on a headstock and think that name adds value to a guitar, but not the name "trump".. So what we are looking at is what looks and sounds like a cheap 150 to 250 dollar guitar, that is being sold for 1,500 dollars... People seem to understand that collectors will buy this for sure, but as a guitar it is massively overpriced for what you get.. I suspect this is why you have pointed out that you wouldn't buy one, because as a guitar it is priced way too high.. I can buy any Glarry or Donner or Harley Benton and where it is made is not hidden, but on these it is. It could be in the neck pocket, but I have yet to see inside one of these neck pockets.. But this leads people to think this is a scam, why would anyone want to hide where a guitar is made, if its not a scam? Thank you for the video though, I am not going to put anyone down for reviewing these guitars, as that is often the job of folks such as yourself.. This is a collectable for sure, but as a guitar its just a cheap 150 to 250 guitar, even with the pointless shielding paint where it is.. Because its clearly a collectable and not intended for playing really, I view this basically the same way I would Pokemon cards or stamps and what not.. if someone is into collecting such things, good for them.. Thanks for the review.

This object is not advertised as a "wall hanging", it is sold as a guitar and at $1500. This is not the price of a low to mid-range guitar; if you shop around you could get a Gibson Les Paul Tribute for not much different. What this is is a cheap as cheap Chinese guitar (circa $200) sold for a high price with every attempt made to conceal its country of origin, ie no markings anywhere!. It is a grift, just like the gold sneakers, gold watches, Chinese bibles, NFT cards, Cologne! etc, etc. If you want to make a very rich men even richer, then by all means buy these products; if not, then buy yourself a real guitar. Its also interesting that you didn't mention the bolt on neck or make any attempt to remove it to see if that indicated country of origin.

I just think what someone is paying for it the Limited edition of a MAGA fretboard for the $ 1,500 one's, the $ 10,500 one's are the same guitar with a POTUS signature. One is paying for that, not the $ 120 guitar it's on. Just thought it was an overreach Gibson getting involved with the cease & desist. All Gibson had to do was denounce their affiliation with anything MAGA guitar. The only reason I would think Gibson would cease & desist, is because down the road someone else may misrepresent as a Gibson affiliation, even if it's a Maestro-like guitar ?

So here is my take on this guitar as I've said in many other videos on this. This is a guitar made by a company that paid for a celebrity endorsement. In this case it was Donald Trump. These are basically the equivalent build to a 200-300 Chinese made Chibson guitar or Firefly. Pick your flavor. So it will look good, be well built, and probably have cheaper hardware on it. People buying should understand that bascially 300 is the cost of this guitar and 1200 is the cost of the novelty or rarity. If you bought the signature version it is basically 10k for that signature. People get so bent out of shape because of being Trump though. They think he made these or had a hand with these other than his PR team handling a deal with another company which is a routine occurance. Speaking of which. I've played and seen other 1500 guitars that have roughly the same hardware as this. The Epiphone Adam Jones guitars come to mind that are very similar to this one in that you are paying extra for the rarity/novelty of the guitar. Truth be told, high end Gibsons and Fenders only charge what they do for the same reason Rolex charges so much for their watches. That is because you are paying for a "luxury" brand and you pay that luxury price. Many of the expensive luxury guitars are also going to have very minor cosmetic defects as well. Almost all guitars these days are made on CNC machines that make the majority of parts. Those machines have tolerances and sometimes something jams up the process. You hope everything gets caught by quality control, but that is rarely the case. Good review though.
@IracesGarageКүн бұрын
Agree 100%. You're one of the few people that understands this. The only thing I'd add is that I do feel that the wood quality and the inlay quality is a step or 2 above what I expect on $2-300 guitars. Most guitars that cheap bury the wood under a dark finish to hide the terrible mismatch. This has a clear finish on the back and the body woods are well matched. I'm also genuinely shocked at how nice the rosewood fretboard is. It looks light in my close-up pics, but it's actually quite dark like how it looks in the video.

Which is making this guitar oh so much sweeter for a collector. P.S This owner is going to laugh all the way to the bank when it's time to cash in. And he'll be singin a sweet song of Victory. Like him or not. He's one smart cookie. He knows money.

people either can't get past their hatred, or are fixated on the fact that this isn't a $1500 guitar and have no idea how memorabilia or collectable item pricing works. It's no different than the Ronald Reagan pen that I bought at the Reagan Library in California. I paid $20 for it. Was it a $20 pen? Of course not. It was a $5 pen at best, but because it had Ronald Reagan's signature silk screened on the side, it was $20. I happily paid my $20 and I used that pen for a long time before it fell apart. I got my money's worth.

That’s lame. I don’t care if a guitar is a collectors edition or not… a $1,500 should play and sound good, full stop. If you’re buying the guitar strictly as art, that’s one thing, but even with that, it’s pretty lame if the guitar plays or sounds plays like a significantly less expensive guitar. If this was really an art piece, it wouldn’t even have electronics.
@IracesGarageКүн бұрын
In my opinion it does play and sound good. It's got some cheap hardware, but after I gave it a very basic setup, it played great. Tone is subjective, but I like brighter humbuckers, so I thought it sounded great too.

as with so many other people, you missed the point. If you're buying a guitar to use, then I agree that there are much better options than this guitar. I said so in the video. That's not the point of this guitar. That's the part that so many people seem to have trouble wrapping their heads around. It's no different than paying $40 for a $2 bill with Trump's face on it. As currency, it's still only worth $2, but clearly as a collectable, it's worth $40 to some people. As a playable guitar, this one is worth $200-300, but absolutely nobody is buying the guitar for that purpose.

Thank you for the autopsy and fair review. Pretty much as expected. It's fair quality and playable and was never expected to be a top end axe. Anyone who purchased one of the 1300 limited edition, which includes the 275 autographed, knew they were buying a collectable presidential item. These go on walls or in cases as investments 15/20 years from now or more. They will increase in value in mint condition. Anyone who expected a high end piece was not paying attention. They will always be controversial, which to a collector is part of the attraction. Tone Junkie did two reviews playing it and I didn't think it sounded bad at all. I was surprised actually. Would I tour/gig with it = no. Not made for that purpose. And as you pointed out the head stock star at about 7 o'clock position is flawed. All of the 1300 have the same, but it's not a flaw, it's an intentional mark to thwart knockoffs. Same with the "(I)" in America, which is very thin and butted right up with the fret, and the tuners with XL4. And none of the parts are marked on purpose. Designed so it can't be copied. Or very difficult to do. The haters will hate in the end. Investors will invest. But this won't be a go to for any player. We might see Kid Rock play one in a future video or something - who knows. Thanks again for video. I think you are the first to tear one down.
@IracesGarageКүн бұрын
I can't say that I necessarily agree on these having those "issues" as a method of preventing copies. The guitar on the website doesn't even have the flaw in the star. The fretboards vary: not all of them have the "I" obscured. It all depends on how the fretboard was positioned over the neck blank. The blank hardware sure isn't hard to copy... most unbranded hardware is blank.
@duanesworld12322 сағат бұрын
@@IracesGarage Thanks for the reply !! Yeah it's strange on that star. It's under the finish. I just find it hard to believe they'd let that roll ahead on all 1300. Stain overspray possibly at the exact same location and then clear coat over all of em. It's a strange one and why I thought it was on purpose. Would be hard to copy this and get away with it due to some of these issues. Have a great 2025.

Many (not all, of course) who are hating on this guitar, are doing so because they hate Trump, and even if it was an $1500 guitar, they’d still hate it. Newsflash….it’s a collector’s item for guys with money to burn, to buy. Would I buy one? No, and I voted for Trump. Instead, I own overpriced actual Les Paul’s and Strats that have quality control issues that I have to address, when I buy them, but they’re made for gigging and recording. This guitar isn’t, but if people want to spend their money on it, that’s their business. And if you didn’t have 100 guys on You Tube getting clicks reviewing them, they’d be reviewing $159 Amazon guitars and telling you how great they are. While the bridge falls off of them, and the tuners stay in tune for about 10 seconds or the first whammy, whichever comes first. These Trump guitars would be forgotten by now, if everyone would quit reviewing them, for clicks…

@@IracesGarage I’m sorry I didn’t mean to sound so gruff. You did a good review and were honest on your thoughts. And if it helps your channel grow, that’s great! After watching a half dozen of these Trump guitar reviews, it’s really more the comments of people who don’t seem to understand that this guitar is a novelty, and that’s what a buyer is paying for. Could someone actually gig with it? Sure….if they wanted to drop another $500 or so, in it for good tuners, a good nut, good pickups, good bridge….basically everything on it, lol! Please accept my apology. I’m really more fed up with people bashing this novelty guitar, yet giving Gibson and Fender a pass, for serious guitars, that have QC issues. Horrible setups, high frets, loose jacks, faulty wiring, right out of the box. But we need to start holding Gibson and Fender’s feet to the fire for THEIR sloppy work. These aren’t novelty companies.
