Biden hasn't done anything for choice. He's done more to destroy all our lives by putting us at risk of nuclear war to where we may not even make it to the next election. We need to restore peace abroad. Abortion topic is a pack of lies and that the Democrats have no intention of solving that or they would've done it when they had both houses. The Democratic party is just using that for something to run on. If we didn't have ourselves in the middle of destroyed dollar and arming Nazi troops abroad the point of a potential nuclear war from recklessly playing chicken with a nuclear power, I might I would put the abortion topic higher and priority.

People _die_ because of pregnancy complications and if the gestational parent dies, the fetus almost always does too. An unwanted child is more likely to have a crappy childhood, too; even if they aren't actually abused, they can still feel their parent's resentment. My grandmother never wanted kids and if even i know that, then you can guess how my parent and their sib felt. At least their dad wanted them. Don't talk to me about adoption. The foster care system is full and a disabled child (which is one reason for later abortions) is far less likely to get adopted than usual. I've heard a lot of people poopoo adoption because "you never know what you're going to get." As if you know with your biological children. Sounds like a better argument for adoption of a older child than an infant if you ask me.
@anthonydelfino6171 Жыл бұрын
And speaking of adoption, the couples that would benefit the most, which are gay male couples, aren't able to adopt children still in, I believe, 31 states.
@merriferrell2818 Жыл бұрын
They also never talk about the hourly horrific child abuse children suffer. The grooming and trafficking they hand wring about are often performed by parents or step/foster parents or partner of parent. Adoption is not a walk in the park and foster care is often a nightmare. There are re-homing adoption webpages and events...parents change their mind and basically audition their adopted child to strangers, esp foreign adoption. The Republican party has become one that has a lurid attraction to suffering
@user-jy8zb2wc8l Жыл бұрын
The way many people view adoption is far too close to being like treating a child as a commodity. It has moved so far from having a village or neighbours or other family members raise a child that got orphaned, instead of this weird process of shipping a child off to the privileged and justifying it because the child will have a "better life".
@gam40152 ай бұрын
This needs to be talked about more. These kids being forced into a family that doesn’t want them, or perhaps wants them but isn’t ready - emotionally or financially - causes a lifetime of harm. How about we focus on caring for the kids who are already here with meaningful resources for families, quality childcare, and paying teachers well.

Biden should own his age in that he has gained a lot of wisdom. The humor, yes! But assurance that he's been there, done that, he has connections, he's danced the dance, and he still can. Unlike Trump, Trump didn't have that experience and couldn't pull it together in the WH. Now is the time for experience.
@KH-tt3wv Жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree more! The thing I've been most surprised about is how little we've heard about how masterfully Biden handled the debt ceiling crisis. He played McCarthy like a fiddle to get the best deal possible. That moment really shows the profound value of wisdom and experience. Could a less experienced leader have pulled it off? Maybe. But in situations dealing with the most politically insane republican party, Biden's age and political experience are assets, not issues.

I will vote for Biden again if he is the Democratic Party nominee but as a rule i am against 8 year terms. There is just SO Much pressure to go flip flop between parties every 8 years. Can someone please explain to me as a Canadian, why are people so concerned about Biden's age and health? Isn't the whole point of your republic that if he were to expire, there's a vice president who steps in? Shouldn't the question just be who is he selecting for his vice president next time? Shouldn't that be more important, in case the worst should happen?
@heykaylc23 Жыл бұрын
This!! I think there's a variety of reasons the focus is on Biden's health. It's a good angle for the opposition to hone in on. Dems want to put highlight on Biden and his accomplishments and overshadow/combat the Biden health concerns. Trump has always shot petty attacks at Biden regarding his health (i.e. Sleepy Joe) so it's become a novelty to his base/campaign strategy. Biden is likely keeping the same VP and idk how people feel about Kamala Harris. If the Dems lean into this angle, I don't see it yielding good results. However it should definitely be discussed more among voters. Imo Kamal Harris been very invisible in this administration (like most VPs tbf) so idk if many would have faith in her ability to take over after Biden and I don't have much faith myself. It was weird to me that Biden picked her as VP anyway given their history on the campaign trail in 2020. However if Biden were to change the VP, I could see people getting angry cause when he chose Harris in 2020, he did so by pushing this "vote for me and my administration will bring you the first black woman VP" messaging. So a hot mess all around. I'd be interested to see who Trump would pick as a VP cause he's not picking Pence again and MTG has been trying to grift her way into the roll.
@fluxrider7027 Жыл бұрын
You might be right about the important question being the VP, but the problem with that question is that Kamala Harris has not been successful in standing out in her role. However, I don't think that Biden's age is the main question, it's just a part of the larger question of why our anointed candidate is the person who is actually under water as a Democratic candidate with over half of Democratic voters.
@raghailligh1080 Жыл бұрын
@@fluxrider7027 The VP is always in the shadows, principally because the POTUS and especially their staff are greedy about media coverage, so the VP is isolated and never seen 'in action'. I don't really think it is top-of-mind for most people. A few loud commentators in the fox bubble and a few mainstream commentators on slow news days. But pair that with the question, "Do you think we would be better off with an admittedly old Joe Biden or a younger sociopathic fascist such as Ron DeSantis?"

Great discussion Tommy. I’m in CO, but hv/will continue to send as much $ as I can afford. I also heavily support Adam Frisch (v. Boebert)- & interestingly Ken Buck’s office told me verbatim “He’s not even sure he’ll run next term…” Odd no? I was calling w/ a complaint about a vote, noted as a DEM, & was told this… Love these amazing DEM candidates‼️🔥👍🏽🇺🇸❤️🗳️

Even though Ken Buck has been known for a long time in Colorado as "fringe right", it seems to me that the "Trumpism" in the Republican party is weighing kind of heavily on his mind.
@nancychandler3673 Жыл бұрын
Interesting about Ken Buck. He was voted in as a Moderate Republican and has been very far right fringe lately. He most likely wouldn't win again anyway.

The two most paradigm presidents in the last 100 years were FDR and Reagen; One of them couldn't walk and the other had no memory. Since Fox News says Biden can't do either (e.g. see falling over at speech and speeches in general), I guess Biden will be doubly paradigm shifting.

There needs to be an age limit on both congress and the president - a lot of congress needs to retire and Biden and trump need to retire.

Thank you Collin! Pod Save guys, anything you can do to make clips like this bite sized for us to share with our Texas friends (and anything you can do to pay attention to and support Texas) is greatly appreciated! I've volunteered for Beto for 5 years and for Collin a little too. We need national support! Texas should not be written off any more. We are important and ready but we need help too!

Just love you guys so much. Great discussions on all counts. Your ad idea is brilliant. Hope someone does it & many more like that to simply show the alternative/ two different worlds; which one do you want to live in. Terrific.

@@jodeesalazar6006 In 2016 he was repeatedly expressing opinions on all sides of an issue. Those who wanted to like him just chose the statement of his that they liked best, and assumed the rest were lies for the "others".

People on the fence might believe him.
@fluxrider7027 Жыл бұрын
And then when most of his statements turned out to be lies, there was no chance to call him out on them because he was already regaling the press with some other offensive lie (or more likely four different unrelated but equally offensive lies).

A White belt is the LOWEST level belt in Jiu Jitsu (and many, if not all, other martial arts)…. … as in you sign up for the class, buy your gi (pronounce “ghee”, like the clarified butter), and it includes your White belt. After taking a certain number of classes, testing happens, and you earn a stripe for your belt. After a certain number of tests/stripes, you move up to the next belt. ETA: PUPPY!!! 1:24:44

Re: That comment about nobody ever dies at Disney World at 28:10, it's kind of a legal loophole about being legally declared dead. Since being legally declared dead is usually only able to be done by doctors or a coroner, which doesn't usually happen until someone is at a hospital, that's the loophole they slide through.
@ExhaustedWombat Жыл бұрын
I remember hearing that there was an effort to get people off the grounds prior to them being declared dead as a matter of policy. They’ll just hustle a corpse out of the gate to keep their numbers good.
