@@BwInNewJerseyLOOOL. Ok 🥴… Which part? The part where she ran as Republican lite? Maybe the part where she held hands with the “popular” Liz Cheney on the campaign trail? Or the part where she bragged about the endorsement of Dick Cheney to anyone who’d listen? How about when she refused to distance herself from the unpopular president who she was tapped to replace because he was so unpopular? Maybe the part where she doubled down on her full throated support for gen.oc.ide and called her base protesting the crime of all crimes anti.semeti.c every chance she got. Or how her campaign blew through $1.7 billion dollars targeting rich white women who never vote Republican rather than changing course of foreign policy thus leaving 750k uncommitted votes on the table in key swing states… Her campaign literally did everything they could to lose that race.

@@BwInNewJersey She ran a good campaign by traditional metrics, but we've really entered an era where the traditional way of doing politics is defunct. We don't need to throw the baby out with the bathwater, but the bathwater itself is predicated on the idea that voters have some degree of faith in the institutions of government and are capable of trusting Washington to be responsive to their needs. That's just not the case anymore. We can try to figure out why (my money is the entire executive branch lying to the American people to justify a war for oil, but that's just based off my personal experience), but the important thing going forward is to be the change that the Voters want to see in government so that they don't vote to burn it down.

Enjoyed the episode, but in reflection, I realized that many of the prepared takes felt pretty tame, or maybe low-stakes is a better way to describe them. I get that the staff wanted to keep this a fun episode so it left out any discourse on Gaza or the student protest crackdowns and just stuck to some light material. Probably also why they really downplayed the PSA host bad takes; the episode becomes less fun if the takes presented end up pissing off the hosts more than just a little light ribbing would. I've been listening to these guys since the first Trump term, so it sucks sensing that the group has drifted off the path so to speak. I'm not saying I want them to just say what I already believe or just spew out garbage that feeds my own biases. I know I'm not always right, and I'm probably wrong more often than I'd care to admit. I guess all I'm asking is for the hosts and staff at Crooked to take some of this off time to clear their heads and do some self-reflection and soul searching. Re-evaluate what your values are, and maybe be just a little less condescending to people who don't agree with you. See you next year.

Do you see the irony here?
@tanja0411Ай бұрын
You missed the point as SO many do. It’s fine to have whatever opinion you want but it’s way more helpful if it’s based on knowledge/research. And it’s always better if people could understand how dangerous both-sideism and whataboutism is. Obviously policing words is terrible/the worst but that’s not what the pod does.
