Thank you for reminding this. Now I see why your website is not perfectly fast. 😂 (Kidding) I have a posted a not perfect video 17 years ago. Which is still bringing most traffic to my website and product. I am happy that I posted it back then. 👍

This is exactly the obsessive and destructive thought process that i go through and i needed this. Been sitting on 5 different business ideas in various areas from products to services for the community to a brand that I got a so called perfect logo made for over 4 years ago now. Yet I've always been afraid I will be not good enough to cherge for anything because it won't be perfect. I woukd have at least 3 imperfect additional streams of income if I'd started each at the time I knew was right but talked myself out of. Today is the start of changing this. You will never understand how grateful I am for your simple and spot on explanation. Thank you a million times over

I SOOO needed this today. I am akso a perfectionist and I'm scared that if the way I present my content doesn't look professional enough, people would not want to come back for more, or won't tell their friends.

Lately, I've been working on more music and it almost feels weird because I'm like, "Wow, this seems too soon; am I forgetting to do something else first?" But no, I'm just not wasting my time on "busy work" anymore. And you know what? It feels great! It's a lot more fun and exciting to actually WORK on content than to PUT IT OFF because I think I'm not ready or it's not perfect.

That’s why these videos preach with the example. They do help out people. No intro jingle, no green screen, no fancy After fx animations. Just a great person, giving great advice in front of a plain and non distracting background. Thank you. Cheers!

Thank you so much for this video Graham. As a music producer I never released anything because of this hunger that my music can be more better. Wasted so much time trying to perfect things and ended up releasing nothing. Everything you talked about in this video is feeling like you are talking to me directly. Thank you once again for the inspiration. :)

You gain so much precious time by watching helpful and inspirational videos like that, and not having to go through hundreds and hundreds pages of dreadful books, which inspired these kind of concise videos in the first place. It's a real pleasure to watch ,and knowing that you can skip the books reading hussle.Welcome to the 3rd decade of 21th century! thanks for this post. I just had a friend tell me to just post what I have, I have so much good clips/ photos but I always want them to tell a story and make an impactful video, but there is still people out there who want to see it. Happy to see someone other than Gary V talking about boosting like this.

It scares me that I'm not a good composer such as bunch of amazing people that can create any music you ask. Living of music is my personal mission and it terrifies me that I'm not prepared enough for it. Thanks Graham.

I’ve been working on my Debut Album “The Hardest Part”, which I wrote, arranged, produced, tracked, mixed, and mastered myself, which you can check out some of the tracks on my Channel, but I should’ve released it already but I feel like I keep getting better and better with my skills as a Mix Engineer so I feel like the quality of my tracks keeps getting better and better as I re-mix the songs over and over, and Id be really really embarrassed releasing something that sounds like an amateurish garage recording that it’s been holding me back from just putting it out there. Album: The Hardest Part Artist: C.J. Genre: Emo/Rap

Graham, you've been "reading my mail". lol! This message was spot on for me! What's held back my content the most has been a lack of boundaries in my business. I would allow my students to book coaching hours with me for pretty much any day or time during the work week. I would go into each day with no set time to start or finish my workday. This caused an irregular and unhealthy sleeping schedule and a lack of focus and clarity. Mentally it was overwhelming me and I couldn't enjoy my time off because I always felt guilty for what I hadn't gotten done. I also wasn't spending quality time with my wife like I should have which lead to some pretty "passionate" conversations. Basically, I felt like I was spinning in circles and couldn't tell up from down. Total disarray! Well, last week was what I'm referring too as my "reset" week. I've automated scheduling my coaching sessions, I've got an autoresponse in place for my inbox, and I've blocked out time for myself each week to work on content curation Mon-Wed. I just finished and scheduled out my first article for this year to go out next Monday. Now I'm working on a video tutorial for my channel to go out next Wed. My goal is to release 1 article and 1 video each week and to work 1 week in advance so I don't feel "reactive" producing overwhelm. Now I'm starting and ending work every day at a set time, getting to hang out with my awesome wife and we were even able to go out on a date last weekend! I feel awesome focusing on the 20% and I'm about to start working on creating my first course! Less input, more output and...Life is good! Thanks for all that you do Graham! You've been a blessing to me and my business. Much love and respect! :) 😎👊 - Cole Mize

my first music release was terrible, but it was good 2 days BEFORE. I have not just overdone it, but i placed there big mistakes (like accidentally put an extreme eq on the whole drum bus) . Now I try to be faster by doing easier(lean) process .. sure it is not perfect , but better

Lack of Studio monitors is the fear. I have and EP of electronic music full arranged that just needs to be re-mixed. I have become worried lately because I've been mixing on sub-par monitors. I'm gonna get some new ones soon and start up again than, but needless to say, I have been kept from getting my stuff out there.

Thank you so much Graham! My friends and I went through this 2 weeks ago and it's true! We released an album recorded and produced in 48 hrs and it did great! Of course we can improve, and we will. Now I'm taking 4 of your courses and I'm trying to practice as much as possible. Something I've learned is that 1. Perfect can NEVER be achieved if you make it. No matter what. If you come back the day after you posted it and analyse it you will probably say "I could change ___" 2. People appreciate when you deliver good content, even if it's not perfect 3. People appreciate more when your content improves with time (If you want to check our project out you can find it searching in google for "ECO Apostolado cantar es rezar dos veces" and listen to it in our webpage. It's catholic music in spanish and we made it for holly week. ) 4. Receiving feedback from random strangers even if what they will say is not what you want to hear HELPS A LOT Thank you so much for this second channel, Graham. It has been Trully usefull since your first video. And we are actually improving thanks to you

Thank you for this. I have been afraid to press publish on my blog. I bought the domain, the site, wrote a couple of posts, etc.. but I've been obsessing over the design and content. My husband and I have also started a music youtube channel(@jamesandterrilyn), but I've haven't been in love with My sound. I'm trying to figure it out so we've tried a couple of things. I kind of feel lost, but have been trying to stay encouraged because ultimately we want to build something that will allow us to work for ourselves. All that said, I think I will hit publish today after watching your video. It helped me to feel more confident.

For me I worry about messing up the production or not making it the best possible. What goes through my head is "what if spend more time on this and end up adding something that makes it a hit song". The thought of me or my clients missing out on a potential hit kind of sucks. This may sound kind of silly, like it should be "the song itself is what makes it a hit" but you never really know with music so I guess its all adding to the faulty perfection game.

I'd like to start releasing song cover videos, but I keep saying I need a better room or better lighting to look professional like similar creators. Is it best to go and start now or to invest in some equipment? I've been struggling with this for a while and I think it's just fear of not looking as legit as other youtubers Thanks for this video
