I NEED these awesome compilations, Thank You! The way you put all of them together is just great. It makes the individual pieces greater than the sum of the parts by taking a great show and then pulling the best parts out. I'm grateful. Truly.

Awesome overview of my hero. I love Dave, I miss Dave...no one will ever be as influential as Dave in Late Night television. Colbert is okay, but he's no Letterman. Jimmy (both of them) try as they will, will never be as inventive and memorable as Dave.

youtube-dl is a bit of "work" if you will, since it's a command-line only program and you have to enter a bunch of commands in the dos-box on windows to make it work, but it's a very powerful tool
@dongiller
@dongiller 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yeah, that won't happen. :) The two copyright claims that had earlier blocked the video seemed strange, so I filled out the YT forms to contest them. To YT's credit, they unblocked the video until they/we hear back from the copyright owners. The risk is losing the entire channel, but I think/hope I'll be ok. If not, grab 'em while they're still all up.

Irritating you appropriate a disregard of our history. we Americans savory our history of comedy. Will Rodgers and Mark Twain were the Letterman of our times. they were and remain a reminder that no one at any time will fuck with our Liberty. it is not a game we play. comedy stabs at people who make comments like you do who don,t have a clue why and when you make statements like you do.

He mentions that he stopped drinking and never had a drink after the age of 34, but I recall seeing him drink on air several times... fast forward to 23:00 and he does it on a cooking segment with Martha Stewart, but he did it several times... so what's the thing? Those were like his only exceptions or it was fake alcohol used on air?

A. 27:00 Trust Bill Murray to end up getting the best-looking brunette twins I've ever seen to be inside a cake with! - and - B. As I've specified before, we didn't get Dave in New Zealand until late 1996 and from that point on I was hooked for life. My God, when I think of all the thousands of hours of Dave I've never seen, from his beginnings until nearly 3 years into his CBS era, I get that thrilled feeling knowing I'll be thoroughly entertained for many years to come. Hopefully, by the time I go into a retirement complex or residential care, every second possible will be available and loaded onto some kind of holographic storage medium - possibly available in a Limited Edition Canned Ham collector's tin!

I'm a musician and we always watched Dave after the gig religiously. To be as tight as Paul Schaefer and the CBS orchestra was our goal as we were a house band that only moved three times in 20 years, all within a mile of each other. It takes so much work to stay fresh and learn new songs, all while trying to deal with a lot of pressure.The silent communication between the musicians as they watched Dave to be ready for anything from a drum lick after a joke to playing the songs for guests to walk out that always are an inside joke. (Like if Louis CK walked on they would play "Louie Louie", stuff like that.) We worked 6 or 7 nights a week so we saw literally every show and if I was going to be busy I'd set my VCR to record it and I'd lose my mind if someone turned it during the show. We are from Augusta the home of James Brown. TIGHT bands here. Obviously Dave is the main course and I STILL miss him. Also lastly I just want to add, I miss my best friend and bassist extraordinaire Mark Wright whose house was the center of all fun called "Club Jed". He loved Will Lee. Thanks everyone (or anyone) who read this for me.
