Nicole Sherman Late Ms. Donna Summer was not a such an underrated vocalist after all. She was very popular that time and was named as the Queen of Disco. She had many US and UK Top chart hits in the late 70's and early 80's. Also she had many platinum and gold certified albums including her most successful double album "Bad Girls" in 1979 which sold multi platinum in many countries. Its only after about 1984 that her commercial success started to go down, and that was very sad to see. Afterwards also she had comeback albums, because she did not give up and kept on recording. She was a true diva with that great voice and she was an unforgettable legend.

“She Works Hard For The Money” was a good album. My fav song from that LP is “Unconditional Love” featuring Musical Youth.

Congratulations on 100k. Very proud of you. I remember first watching your when you had 16k. So happy for you. I think if they ever make a biopic of her Kelly rowland should play her. She favors her. Last dance, work hard for the money are my favs.

Danced and sang to Queen Donna a lot back in the day. LOVE TO LOVE YOU was a bit racy so the volume was turned down ☺️.

Still amazing to know LTLYB was considered racy then. Risque and racy things have evolved over the years to make that seem so tame.

At 1st they would only play it at night on the radio.

OMG! I had no idea Donna Summer was from Boston. Let alone Mission Hill. My grandmother raised her 12 children in, what was at the time a rival housing project, Academy Homes, mere blocks away. I'm going to have to ask my mom if she knew that. And I just looked up her birthday. She was born 11 years before my mom. Her and I share a birthday, New Years Eve. 🎉🎉

I think Donna was adored by her fans and she was, in fact, a very nice lady. (Someone commented that she wasn't) As an artist, I do think that she was underated. I think she was one of the most talented and gifted entertainers we've ever had and she was a beautiful woman. She could sing anything and quite beautifully at that!

My memmories of Ms. Donna Summer are so beautiful. My dad came home with a new record album for me and he said, "You have to play this now". and so I did. From that point on baby Disco was raining in Our House Every Day. God Bless You Ms. Donna and also to your family. You will never be forgotten......your music will always be with us. God Bless You Our Beloved Queen of Disco as well as a beautiful Mom.

This might sound bad but I was introduced to Donna Summer by listening to Selena. Selena always said Donna Summer was an influence to her and covered her songs in concerts. After that, I started listening to Donna's original versions of the songs.

That is true Selena is been influence by Donna Summer. She did the cover of her songs.

Donna Summer was and still is part of the soundtrack of my life, she defined what a good dance anthem was. There was a lot of greats out there but no one could top her with the way she would build up on a song and just make it soar. Always love you Donna 🎼🎶🎵♥️
