Tempering steel is done by letting it sit in an oven at low heat, for awhile. No "hitting/hammering/mashing" is involved with tempering.

Thank you for the correction.
@rajendra82a5 жыл бұрын
The hitting/hammering/mashing would be work hardening, as in in the mysterious Rogue process that makes a barbell jump from a F-scale rating of 2 to 6.

I laughed a little when I heard that. Was like "wouldn't you temper your muscles in a Sauna?" Kinda obvious when you think about temperature

Very nuance topic, but one could argue either way. Placebo effect is still far better than no effect.
@PrimeMatt5 жыл бұрын
The effects are neurological, and the method of application means double blind studies are impossible, so I doubt we'll ever see hard evidence for its efficacy. However I've used it on dozens of people, (boomstick and pain pill mostly), and there is a definite acute effect, which can lead to improved movement patterns, and therefore long term change 👍🏼
@HalfJapMarine4 жыл бұрын
Yeah the improvement to movement patterns seems to be really undervalued. Crisp movements putting tension right where you want it will have amazing benefits long-term.

My friends got an x wife (130 lbs roller) and uses it on our powerlifting team. Can say 100 percent say does a good job at preventing injuries, helps recovery, and reduces imbalances. I have scoliosis and my left erector has become way bigger than my right and that thing helped take out muscle adhesions and reduced pain so much. I think I will invest in one myself one day. To be clear, body tempering is mainly for preventing injuries and if you don’t have that problem or are simply a recreational lifter it likely won’t help you.

@c.simmons21474 жыл бұрын
You could still probably have the bigger weights work on smaller body parts. Just get something narrow that you can stack so your arm can fit on top but still have it between the weights.

Hey Coop, I looked your home gym series and would like to get your opinion about the cable machines or cable equipment that can be attached to a power rack or so. Is that worth spending the money for a home gym especially a room that’s not too large to put everything in? And I’m talking about the cable that you can adjustment from top to the bottom not like the pull up attachment that you can only use it on the top or on the bottom. I looked on amazon and found a brand name called Valor fitness. It has a BD-7BCC system that includes power rack and cable attachments on both side. Can you give a review on it? Thank you!

It’s just massage. Why do you couch it as “having or not having” long term benefits or strength preparation? Just like massage it is a myofacial release of the muscle fibers. Essentially a deep tissue massage preformed on large swaths of muscle groups. This is what you pay massage practitioners to do with their hands. And hands are the best implement for this purpose but for lack of money and a skilled massage practitioner this is the next best thing. I was always told in massage school that people get massages because they do not stretch. So lengthening the muscle fibers and breaking up knotted muscle so more blood and oxygen can get in with more mobility and overall strength post massage or stretch ( baring you do not stretch too much for too long) is the purpose and outcome of this. I bet he has to come up with a marketing gimmick for it because claiming certain outcomes or processes relating to body manipulation can be a legal matter.
