Fun fact about the apple green color: Apple green was considered bad luck in motorcycle racing, so Kawasaki started to paint their bikes with that color because they said "we dont believe in luck, we believe in engineering" something like that. Hope you guys like it.

I vividly recall the first time I saw the first GPZ 900 "Ninja": My family's auto repair shop (going on 55 years, same location) was right down the road from the Kawasaki dealership, and my Father and oldest brother were best buds with the manager. He would jump on the newest models and ride up to show my dad and brother when I was just a young whelp hanging out. All the mechanics would gas up their work at our shop also, so I saw tons of machines. I bought my first street motorcycle from their when I got my motorcycle license the summer after I turned 16. I was in love with the KZ's and then the GPS. I had my eye on the GPZ550 for my first bike (but my dad, a Harley rider since post-WW2, insisted on the 454LTD. Wasn't a bad choice after all.). The GPZ750 turbo was INSANE! Then, during my senior year of high school, Denny, the manager rode in on a freshly assembled NINJA! How crazy that bike looked! Imagine my poor teenage brain dreaming of screaming on that thing. One of my buddies bought one right after graduation, but that machine was way out of my price range. I'm currently shopping for a Ninja 650 to purchase before the spring. My wife hates the green, I don't like the red. Black it is.

I'm one of those 50%. I started on a Ninja 300. Excellent bike, incredibly easy to ride and handle, and so light it was awesome in canyons... until the highway. Any highway above 70 mph was terrifying on that thing since it was blown around so easily and had a budget suspension. I stepped up to a ZX-6R briefly, and then to a Ninja 1000 and I'm done. The Ninja 1000 is an amazing all-around street bike and does everything well. I am not a brand loyalist in most things, but I'm a Ninja guy for life.

Doing things for vainglory goes directly against the Lord's teachings. Humility, patience, and gentleness are in line with how Jesus lived His life. Use his life and death as a model, because that is exactly the Lord intended it to be./Prayer+ Forgive me Father, for I have selfishly demanded recognition for the good deeds that I have done. I wish that I can selfishly do things that benefit others because it truly makes me feel better, not because I will get acclaim from others. I rented ALL sorts of super bikes in Thailand, but fell in love with the Honda Super Blackbird. SO much more comfortable, stable...etc than the liter bikes. Soooo, a few years later I bought and a 2001 fuel injected Honda Super Blackbird. It came black OEM but had bee converted to Red using crappy Asian fiberglass body kit. The tank had a very good re paint however in the correct code. With (MANY!) bolt ons and a tune and other mods, the bike was ridiculously fast. It would pull forever and stay rock stable on the $1,100 custom Penske rear shock I commissioned. Five way adjustable. Once I had it tuned, that bike would handle any kind of pavement with ease, compliance, stability and comfort. The single BEST mod I did for that bike was that very expensive Penske rear shock. Night and day. The stock shock wallowed like a water buffalo. Didnt even need to touch the forks which is what most people did. The stock rear shock was utter crap. Penske I designed was able to raise the back by 6mm, making the steering much more precise while still staying very stable. I raised the handle bar geometry a bit. New wave type front rotors, EBC aggressive brake pads. A lot of things came out of UK and Germany where the Blackbird was much more popular than in the USA. I changed one tooth on the front sprocket and gained considerable acceleration while reducing my top speed down to 'only" 170mph. It did not affect cruising comfort at all like when you change the ratio on a car. New custom seat from England, and a high tech windshield (had an adjustable airfoil that worked so well for 6'4" me)from Germany made the bike a true international ride.. Best bike I ever owned....after 3K in mods and 100+ hours of work. I added HID lights, and under tray and even modified the clutch (per the forums) to be completely linear and NOT grabby. I installed an upgraded, higher psi fuel regulator. Actually an OEM Honda part from a 2003 Blackbird. Everything I did was quite an improvement. All new VERY EXPENSIVE ABS OEM body kit from Honda. Worth every penny. Red...flawless red. Best paint job I ever saw from an OEM part. I never damaged it, thank God. New headers, pipes and a Dyna box with a custom tune. I maybe added 12rwhp. I could have spent less and had a Hayabusa, but the Honda Super Blackbird XXX was a taller bike and fit my 6'4" body better. And it was SEXY looking, especially with pipes and a custom under tray in the rear. Sold it for pennies on the dollar before I killed myself. My right knee just was too painful riding ANY sport bike. I now can only ride a bile with forward controls. Oh well. I will remember my Super Blackbird with great fondness.

Funny thing is by 1987, my little 400cc Suzuki impulse gsx-ex 16 valve, water/air/oil cooled four cyclinder four stroke, with a frame mounted headlight with only 55hp on tap was radiated at 247kph (154mph) on the track. The only non stock aspects of this bike was a six inch square piece of cardboard aiding airflow, slightly heavier fork oil, and triple faced valve faces, and the removal of the wing mirrors, and fractionally taller gearing than standard, to suit the biased radials it wore. It had an extraordinarily small frontal cross section, made power right up to the 13700 redline (enforced by ignition) and would dance like a insane bronco when pushed hard in corners. Due to its full time oil pump, and rear mono suspension it was damn near bomb proof, and I eventually clocked up over 3/4 million km without a major engine rebuild, or significant maintenance other than the usual plugs, oil, tyres, chain, and brake replacement. Then some nasty bugger stole it, the day after I replaced chain and sprockets and rubber. It handled like a GP-bike, due to a minor off involving a curb at midnight, which shortened the wheelbase by 1 1/2”. And being light -only 158kg dry, you could throw it at corners like a mad bastard. And guess what those 900cc Kawasaki Ninjas only ever had me off the line: add a couple of corners and the ninja riders needed bigger balls, because those ninjas had longer wheel bases and were heavier, and typically were ridden by big blokes with deep pockets. Because my little bike cost a third, brand new what a ninja cost. No seriously Ninjas were over rated for what they were. Meanwhile, my Suzuki was a 5000 unit homologation failure by Suzuki for the Japanese race circuit, because the entire production line was build with a wonky wheel alignment. The rear wheel tracked to the right of centre. It was a design decision to try to tune the bike for the Japanese circuit that wasn’t well received, and so they were dumped to the Australasian market for only about US$2000. Thus it became a go to bike for Formula 3 racing, capable of competing with two strokes of similar engine capacity, due to its immensely wide sport commuter power band with buckets of mid range torque and peak power at 13300rpm. Harleys are great if your keen to wake up those dozy drivers, and the Ninja screamed, and the little Suzuki impulse breezed past at screamer speeds damn near silent.

There's something fast and amazing about 4 Cylinder Motorcycle engines. The old bikes are so fast they can beat a lot of the new cars today for less than 5 thousand bucks.

And a lot of old 4 cylinder super bike engine were used by car enthusiast to do swap engine on a little car, (like old mini or smart). Because the engine were compact, powerfull and freakin Screamiin at high rev, with the Busa engine and R1 Genesis engine being the 2 most popular among them

And when you down-tune those fire-breathing race motors for a big low/mid-end boost you end up with some crazy reliable street motors that can still do dank whoolies and big burnouts!
