Didn’t even realize this Barracuda episode existed, completely missed it somehow! Love it! My first car was a 72 Barracuda, dad got it for me when I was 13 & in the hospital in Vidalia, Ga. back in 1981. He was an old school Dodge/Plymouth man & I was a muscle car freak with my brothers). Interior was near perfect but body was dinged up & had a 74 fender, no front valance & no engine/transmission. We built a 360 with a 727 & I absolutely loved that car. What I wouldn’t give to have that car today…maybe one day but since the big auction monsters started in the 90s E-bodies are priced in the stratosphere. Love y’all at Donut!

My dad owns a 1970 hemi cuda, it was pulled off yhe assembly line and built by john Canfield for bob lambeck to drag race for dodge. It now is in my dads shop and only has 14,000 miles. And has john Canfields signature on the inside oassanger firewall. Its pretty cool to have a piece of American history

When you mentioned the Valiant and the pushbutton automatic transmission, it reminded me of an event from my high school years. An acquaintance had a Valiant with the pushbuttons. Somehow he got the idea to rev the engine to incredible RPMs and punch the "Drive" button. Right there in the school's parking lot he revved that puppy up to what I'd like to say was around 6K, and pushed in 'Drive"... and *BAM* .. he dropped that tranny right then and there.... popped the crankshaft bearings and smoke was everywhere... it was a sight LOL

I wasn't even born when these cars were around, and thanks to your videos I have fallen in love with Impala, GTO, Chevel, Cuda and all. Mustang, Challenger and Camaro are the only 3 which survived to this day in the form they were meant to be. Someday, I will save enough money and get 1 GTO restomod for myself and have it shipped over to Dubai. It will be blue in color with white interior. My pops has a numbers matching '70 'cuda 440 shaker with the 4 speed that he did a nut and bolt complete restoration on. He's got the original 440 block stroked out plus a second block also stroked out and modified for pushing hard (doesn't want to blow the original). Dyno'd around 575HP. Thing is a beast.

Those things are so cool and fun to see in action! Felt so bad for the driver that had that mishap when he gave Jay Leno a ride and smacked up that car! I forget his name, but he was probably the foremost expert of driving those crazy machines. Leno gets in and wouldn’t you know it. They crash. I remember watching it in real-time. My good friend. The term "Pony Car" was used the first time after the launch of the 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang, because the logo of the car was a horse. After that all competitors in the segment were included under the term " Pony Car". And as a matter of fact, the Barracuda is a Muscle Car. The only "Pony Cars" are Mustangs, Camaros and Firebirds mostly, because they're not normal small cars or family cars with big engines, which is the meaning of Muscle Car.
