It was the summer of 1971. We were dirt poor , hard headed , loud mouthed teenagers with a spirit of adventure. Terry Thompson, Juan (Poncho Grande) Fuentes, Jacky Ray Thompson, Dennis (the yellow duck) Dibble, Sandra Lou Bemis and myself, drove to Joplin Mo. to see our very first Live Concert! This song was one of there first hits and we all left feeling a little"funny" after the smoke filled experience....It was a bond that has lasted 50 years.

I started out in bands back in the 60's when all of us played together and could do it live. I must admit, now that we all have the technology in our own personal computers to sound a bit band like on our own if we can play a few instruments I do it like that now. But it's nothing like having 4 or 5 comrades that can play up there doin' it together. This is from those magic days when groups created great music together, each giving it their best. Today's music will never compete with that. I count my blessings that my younger days were from that time. Sadly, we can never go back. These guys just rock like it's supposed to be. There are probably those that would disagree, but you just had to be there to know what I'm talkin' about. Fortunately there are a few groups left from that time that still carry on the tradition, but for how much longer can they do it? We are all getting on up in age. These guys are just amazing for how long they have lasted.
