Tom Johnston has changed very little over the last 50 years, maybe older and the hair shorter but he's still the same Tom. Like how he encourages participation from the fans. He obviously thinks very highly of them. This is like 1972 has never really left.

That right! It was magic. And there has been nothing like it since. So sad music went down the tubes after the 70's. The Doobies sound even better now than they did back then. I've seen them in concert 4 times.

Great memory of John's V neck headstock right in my throat as I stood right in front of them at the Carowinds Paladium back in the early 80s. That was the best, and made up my mind, I would be in a band someday! Sadly, Tom wasn't there, but Michael McDonald was. Love em both, and love the doobie bros forever!

I remember I just purchase my McIntosh 250 watt power amp and ESS heil air motion transformer speakers. Running Sansui pre-amp, Pioneer equalizer with a Phillips linear motion turntable. Ahh... all state of the art back than!! I got brand new Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan "Can Buy A Thrill" vinyl, just to enjoy the best quality sound and "Fine Columbian" I could effort at the time. LOL
