I'm so glad I found this video again. It's been YEARS, but the nightmare fuel that was the Silent Hill section has never left my brain enough that I don't think about it from time to time. It scared me so much I never wanted to come back to this channel... But now that I'm older the nostalgia makes me really happy (and I can handle horror much better now). So thanks for making this video, it made me a really great memory and I'm happy to be back.

I personally loved the Megama Zero 3 final boss battle, when it's revealed that Zero is a copy - has been a copy for the past two games, and you never knew it until the very end of the third game - and then Zero has to fight Omega and destroy his real body in the process. But I can't condemn your choice of the battle between X and Zero, because that was definitely an epic boss battle as well - probably even more so, considering that the players have had a longer time to get attached to both characters involved in the fight.

My first reaction to the #1 Boss Battle was "Wait, what?" - I'm unfamiliar with the Metroid franchise despite having lived in that era. But by the end of the video, you made it my #1 Boss Battle, too. Great narration. Awesome picks. Will definitely play Silent Hill 3.

my personal favorite is easily the final boss battle in paper mario ttyd. you have to battle a possessed peach, the tone of the whole situation is unusually dark for a mario rpg, and a few turns into the battle, you wind up powerless. only the support of everyone you've met and saved throughout the game saves your ass dragonball z style, then the final battle really begins. it was a hard boss battle and had amazing music.

I really liked Zant in Twilight Princess, the story leads you to believe he is the mastermind, when really he is a mental pawn on the board. The fight features imitations of previous boss battles along with interesting music remixes of the battle. His fighting style is also very unpredictable.

PikaSquadFilms It is sometimes referred to as "Shadow Dialga" or "Dark DIalga". It appears in PMD2. Here a spoiler,why it is so awesome. It is the insane/corrupted version of Dialga after the Time Tower(or however it is called in english) collapsed and the time stopped. We are talking about a future,that you (the player) want to stop. So you fight Primal Dialga at the top of the currently collapsing tower,it is almost at the state of Primal Dialga. The fight itself is pretty hard,especially the Roar of Time,that deals massive damage to you and your partner. Better stock on revive seeds,because you gonna need them.

+lookslikedekulink Omg, I remember beating him back when I was like 9 years old! But I had a weird bug: the game crashed whenever I had beaten him and when my team touched the item they had to grab (I think it was some sort of artifact) after the fight, which made it actually a very memorable fight for me. Unless this was the intentional ending (which is more something for a 2015 indie than for 00's Nintendo to do)...

My favourite is definitely Malus from Shadow of the Colossus. His depressing unique boss theme combined with the atmosphere and the reasons behind the fight, it is truly one of the best. Other fights include Shinobu Jacobs from No More Heroes. She was, and is, the only boss of them (I haven't faced Henry yet) that has given me a truly fair run for my money. I never did beat a single No More Heroes boss in one try but Shinobu took me about 4 tries. But not once did I ever get angry, I just felt the drive to beat her. Unlike Bad Girl who was a poor excuse for the number 2 ranked fight. I'd rank Wheatley above GLaDOS just for the sake of Wheatley's character. Yeah with GLaDOS it was revenge but with Wheatley it was more trying to get him back to his senses after he's gone insane. And after the fight he is genuinely sorry for his actions. And in space. the final fight with Metal Kor in Jak II was a fantastic fight that really put what you knew to the test and it was sweet vengeance for his betrayal. The Xemnas and Xion fights in Kingdom Hearts II and 358/2 Days respectively were both fantastic fights as well.

The true best boss is either going to be Jeanne (4th and final battle) or FatherBalder, both of which are from Bayonetta and are some of the most over-the-top fights I've ever seen come out of Platinum Games' masterpiece of a game known only as Bayonetta. Jeanne's fight constantly changed the arena. From a missile launch facility, to the windows on a skyscraper, to RIDING A MOTHERF**KING MISSILE, TWICE, and ending it on a rooftop garden. She's the only other Umbra Witch who survived the Armageddon, and is only fighting to help Bayonetta bring all her lost memories back, despite sounding like she purely hates her with a burning passion. Also, you are treated to a fantastic song known as "Blood And Darkness" throughout the fight. As for FatherBalder, he's the last of the Lumen Sages, and one of the key components for the resurrection of the Creator, Jubileus. His fight takes place in the wreckage of his heavenly office, which is now falling from the top of a 1,000 story building at ALL TIMES. He also bombards Bayonetta with Lumen magic and even tries hitting her with satellite lasers and even other skyscrapers. He gets more and more hectic the more of his health you cleave, making the fight tougher and tougher as you go along. He's also the ONLY character in Bayonetta to survive Bayonetta's Climax Attacks. TWICE!!! And by survive, I mean he literally and brutally MURDERS the climax attacks. He meets his end when Bayonetta deals him a headshot with her lipstick. The last words he heard were "Don't fuck with a witch!" Before he met his untimely demise. Also, there's another beautiful so playing during this fight called "You May Call Me Father" playing throughout. How neither of these fights made it onto the list, I'll never know.

Gwyn, Lord of Cinder from Dark Souls is my number 1 FromSoftware tried to make a boss that you could defeat with your own style of play, some call him easy, but that is true for every boss of every game if you know how to do it (or you parried him). You enter through the fog gate with the absolute confidence of clearing out some black knights and Gwyn immediately lunges towards you, no exposition or cutscene shit, and you feel adrenaline with only you, Gwyn, and the Fire lighting the dark. Gwyn holds the embodiment of the lore as the hollow shell of a truly great god, who sacrificed his own humanity to prolong the Age of Fire (if that is good or bad, dunno). Not to mention his theme is mesmerizing, a piano duet that I could (and have) continuously listen to for hours.

Dhoulmagus of Dragon Quest VIII is a standout encounter. You finally get him cornered after chasing him all around the world, which amounts to about 40 hours. He fights by summoning two copies of himself, and instead of having to kill the real one, you need to kill all three. When that fight is finally done, he (and the battlefield) transform into something monstrous and most likely kills your worn-out team in all of three turns. Most JRPG's would then go to a scripted event where the villain then just goes on his way while the heroes revel in defeat. Not this one though, you have to win this fight, and you have to fight hard to earn that win. And then it turns out that beating him is only the halfway point in the game!

My favorite is in Pokemon Gen 3 (any of the three main games) where you go and fight Norman, your father. It's really satisfying, cause not only do you actually have a father, but you've beaten him and he acknowledges you. It's a touching moment.
@ZaWarubro11 жыл бұрын
Seriously, I feel as though this guy has only ever played Legend of Kain, Metroid, Megaman, Links Awakening, FFVII, and Pokemon. Sephiroth is child's play compared to the battle with Kefka. Hell, Melbu Frahma from Legend of Dragoon was more intense than Safer Sephiroth. I understand this his opinion, but after watching about 5 of his videos centered around the same games, a nerve just snapped in my head. This guy needs to broaden is game library.
@dracocrusher11 жыл бұрын
Melbu Frahma was awesome, but it just kept going and going.... In my oppinion, the best Boss Fight in Legend of Dragoon was freaking Lloyd! Not the first encounter, the REAL one. It's up to you to stop this guy once and for all like it was always meant to be. Dragoons vs. Winglies! Your first instinct is to transform and do as much crap as possible but then you quickly realize he can instantly kill your transformation. That moment was just insane.
@XenogearSolid10 жыл бұрын
While I wouldn't say Sephiroth is my favorite FF boss (hell FF7 itself has several games in the series above it in preference of mine) and as great as Kefka was as a character (in this regard he's far superior to Sephiroth) and the lead up was nothing short of awesome, the battle can be won in a couple rounds or less. Sephiroth wasn't exactly hard but I don't get how how he's child's play to a boss that poses no threat even if you never grind.
@michaelrate769310 жыл бұрын
if your just talking about the battle itself, not the lead up to it, then the Final Fantasy entry should have been SHINRYU (FFV) walking through the final dungeon, see a treasure chest - BOOM - (and for those that don't know, he's much stronger than the final boss (Exdeath). If you include the in-game buildup, then Edea (FFVIII) not the toughest ,but the conflicting emotions of the characters makes it so memorable, and the first few lines of dialogue after the fight just cement that in stone. O, and, jrupert1, neither Kefka nor Seph are any kin of challange, regardless of grinding. (the Godesses and Jenova SYNTHESIS respectively were more of a challenge.)

That's debatable, Mother does have a truely epic story, but I personally feel that the overarching story of Metal Gear is the my favorite gaming plot. Please note that i said favorite instead of best, because best is a very general statement and can be subjective. You must be able to quantify something (Plot can't effectively give exact measurements) and refer to what 'best' means(as in most complex? most moving? most influenza?).

My personal favorite story is Metroid purely because the story doesn't matter. With a couple of exceptions, Metroid is gameplay first, everything else second, and this is a brilliant opportunity to tell a story through gameplay, which no game does better than a Metroid game. These games masterfully tell a solid story through subtext and very little dialogue. It's so well done and it makes these games completely unforgettable (even though there are 1 or 2 we would like to forget).

You made a very convincing case with your no. 1! I had never even played a Metroid game and now I know I was really missing something good there. You appreciating this boss battle makes me think you would LOVE Dark Souls. 1, not 2. You fight a huge giant wolf defending what you find out is its late master's grave with his sword in its mouth (Sif). You fight Ornstein & Smough 65 times because damnit last time you almost had them. You meet a crazy undead knight who's obsessed with the sun and helps you with boss battles so much you end up loving him and calling him "my Sunbro!" Until he finds a sun maggot, goes insane and you have to end him. Unless... you've entered the secret hidden pyromancy covenant of a girl that is half spider and doesn't know you've just killed her sister and whose speech you can only understand while wearing a particular ring, find a secret passageway, find the sun maggot before he does and kill it. But then his search goes on forever. And so on and so on other epicness. Seriously, check it out. It's so worth it. I recommend Epicnamebro's channel for all the info and lore you might want.

I loved running into the Mega Metroid. I remember at one point I figured out a way to confuse it so that it hesitated to even attack you. I think the trick was literally to kneel and not aim your gun at it. The thing circled in front of me for about a minute and half (where other playthroughs it just munched me right after letting go of the leaper), and was making all kinds of puzzled noises. It couldn't figure out why I wasn't running away or attacking it, and actually spent a little bit of time debating on whether to eat my head. XD

2 of my favorite boss battles is Kyogre in pokemon sapphire and the final bosses in sonic adventure 1 and 2. Fighting kyogre was amazing since after he awakens there is a huge storm and you have to stop him but when you finally fight him you are greeted with an cool music that really fits in with the chaos that is going on. For the bosses in sonic adventure 1 and 2 its mainly becouse the moment finally arrives and you turn into super sonic and know its time to end this but then the music kicks in that also gives the feeling that you have already won.

I think the final boss battle with with Jack of blades in the chamber of fate in Fable 1 was pretty epic. The fight with him in his dragon form in the Northern wastes Add-on was pretty pulse pounding but it didn't have the whole "stopping the end of the world" feel to it. Not to mention if you are like me and you beat the game long before the northern wastes version came out during your fight in the chamber you were fueled with anger at seeing your mothers throat slit and wanted vengeance for not only her death but also the death of the Guildmaster and the burning of the Hero's Guild.

Prince of Persia warrior within, Dahaka. That fight is everything, after so many escapes you finally get the weapon that can kill the SoB. Many people complain about this game, I though it was epic, the escapes from Dahaka porsuit is still one of the best video game moments I can think

Thank you for mentioning Legacy of Kain. The series is immensely under-appreciated. I agree with you that Legacy of Kain has video games' greatest storyline, and I'm quite sad that the story won't be finished, and that voice actor Tony Jay is dead.

I love the baby metroid! It's so cute and tried to protect you, but it dies :( It leaves a sad memory of an attack, but it was enough to shatter the mother brain

(Disclaimer this is not hatemail) I'm hating watching your videos, it's making me feel like I have never been a gamer. All these games I have passed up, or have been less attached to. You amaze me, definitely subscribing.

One of my favorite boss battles that I can remember is from the Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. It's the dragon boss. It felt good to slay it and it is a challenge to fight. Plus it's fun for me to fight it.

i remember when i first fought mother brain in supa metroid. I thought it was over after you destroy it in the container like you do in the first metroid and metroid zero mission. when it got the body, i was freaked out and also felt weird because i did'nt understand what the heck was going on. but in the end. It felt good giving the mother brain a wipe lash lol.

If you don't mind old sega games I recommend phantasy star 4. One of my favorites of all time is the Profound Darkness fight. And unless you gain a particular spell you cannot beet her.

I love the fight between Red and Gold, when I first did that at age 7 I thought it was the coolest shit I had ever seen and still to this day think it's one of the coolest fights in any series. Though I will say, the boss fight between Sephiroth and Sora in Kingdom Hearts 2 is amazing, and though it isn't quite the same style. Ornstein and Smough will never leave my mind as being one of the hardest and most memorable boss fights ever.

You missed the final battle in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days against Xion. I'm not talking about in Agrabah, I mean in TWilight Town in AN INVISIBLE WALL CAGE! And the scene it leads to after is so very touching that you cry for the poor girl because she's a clone that didn't even live a full year.

Pokemon trainer red in pokemon crystal was probably one of my most memorable boss fights, I was young at the time and a person with a similar hat as ash ketchum with a pikachu made me think this was ash ketchum which was a really cool ending to such a great game. But now that im older and actually realise that red is the main protagonist in pokemon red,blue,yellow,fire red and leaf green made the experience 100 times better. Best child hood moment and I still replay that game just to hear the trainer red theme music...

Yeah, baby metroid's death was hard.. so much rage. Also, i'd include Magus v. Frog (the solo) yes, it cost you Magus in the end. But just the atmosphere of that battle on the cliff with the iconic music going the whole time... and FF9 Beatrix battle in Burmecia, you're doing you thing - grinding it out - you're looking good and then she just says "oh the hell with this" and hits you with her Stock Break, neutering your whole team in one fell swoop and harshly reminding your team of who exactly they're dealing with (again, the epic tunes)
@baraness249 жыл бұрын
Aaaahhhhh Crono Trigger . Such Nostalgia. That Frog vs. Magus fight was pretty Iconic, but personally, mine was the battle versus Queen Zeal with Magus in your party. I only brought him in out of curiousity during one particular run through, and I was just blown away by how his theme replaces the original. Its makes the battle even more powerful considering Zeal is his mother. Just…ah…amazing…

My favorite boss fight has actually always been the final battle between Dante and Vergil in DMC3. Particularly while using Trickster, it felt like the most legitimate duel between two equally skilled people I've ever experienced in a video game.

For me, Prometheus and Pandora fight from MegaMan ZXA is the best of boss battles. They are my favourite characters, they have AMAZING music (which is my favourite, mostly as its remixed ZXA Tunes version), and the battle is SO INTENSE. The Mood set on this battle feels GREAT when you see your enemy laughing at you that you can't do anything about Ouroboros creation, Prometheus and Pandora shows up, and they beat the hell out of Albert. And THEN! You have to fight them when the feeling is like "They've killed Albert! They try to kill me! I have to finish this quickly, because what if i will not destroy all of Models W in time?!" I was just beating the hell out of the control buttons in my DS when i was fighting them. I was angry (that they're stopping me from destroying Models W), sad (that they killed Albert, because that means they have gone Maverick), and Determined (because i wanted to finish the battle quickest as possible to see what happens next). This battle just gave me the Anger, Determination, and a little bit of sadness, just in one battle. That's why i love it. And again... the ZXA Tunes Remix... THE ZXA TUNES REMIX OF THIS MUSIC! This is one of my favourite musics in MegaMan Frenchise.

"no boss fight when dishing out vengeance feels this good" i had that moment in the first battle against shao kahn in MK9. he killed your friend and now you must kill him back. he doesnt really die, but he becomes very helpless after the fight

I can't ask you to change your list because it's your favorites. I do have some epic boss battles that aren't on your list. 1. Shao Kahn (UMK3). This guy will kick your ass and then insult you in your face. 2. Metroid Prime (Metroid Prime). Hard but damn was this one hell of a battle. 3. Anubis (Zone of the Enders 2). Just when you feel like you're invincible, this guy comes. It's three part boss battle that leaves you "exhausted" in the end. 4. Majora (Majora's Mask). The Zelda game has some of the best boss fights in the entire series but this just takes the cake. You have to not use the Fierce Deity's Mask to appreciate it. 5. The Boss (MGS 3). So many good things about it. Not only is she so freaking dangerous that you can't even fight her in her face, the setting is beautiful and it's quite emotional. Perfect end to one of the greatest games ever made. 6. Dracula (Castlevania Adventure: Rebirth). Sure his first two forms are nothing new, it's his third form I'm talking about. Not only is it intimidating, he has the habit of filling the screen with projectiles and explosions. He looks impossible but he can be beaten. 7. Final boss and true Final boss (No More Heroes). Not spoiling this but these are the best boss fights from a game filled with awesome boss fights. 8. Any Colossus from Shadow of the Colossus. A game with only boss fights has got to be good. For me, it's the 13th Colossus but everyone has their favorite colossus.
