Very nice playthrough, I was happy to see fruit salad make it through submissions and it's cool that you decided to play the whole thing. Not sure if you noticed (at least you didn't comment on it), but the visual gimmick of this wad is that palette changes between the maps - all projectiles, pickups and enemy sprites change their colour - e.g. hellknight projectiles are purple in map 01, blue in map 02 and pink in map 03. And this is the magic part, because normally you can't have multiple palettes in one wad :) The trick that fruit salad pulls off is to instead create custom colormaps that switch the colours around in the palette and then apply these colormaps with Boom fake floor line action to the whole map. The result is a really unique wad, GoS is an incredibly creative mapper.

I did notice the colour changes, but had no idea how the swaps were made. An absolute slam dunk in aesthetics that only Ribbiks' partner in Wormwood could have come up with.

The only monster I prioritize because I find the wandering noise they make to be obnoxious. Their death sound heralds relaxing silence for me.

It's also the loudest death sound in the entire game. It'll overtake any other sound if you kill an arachno and another monster simultaneously.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only who stumbled upon the Fruit Salad Map Pack by Grain of Salt. I think this wad pays homage of the Unreal Tournament Monster Hunt maps of the early 2000s. If you listen closely, there are songs that are taken from other IPs such as Sonic 3's Ice Cap Zone. What a Treat; thanks again Decino for finally giving this map pack a try. 😁🎄🎄❄❄

Wow, that was a slick wad. When it was over, I was saddened because I thought you were only three or four levels in. I'd say it needs more maps, but there's something to be said for short and sweet map packs. I agree that the chill music was a great touch. And the palette was really nice. I especially liked those blue imp faces in MAP05. Creepy!

Pretty awesome wad, might actually give this a UV-max go myself. As I've mentioned before, to me DOOM is less an exploration-heavy game as it is punchy so these kind of maps I really enjoy. Or rather, short-punchy or long-relaxed. No frustrating design where you're 10min into a map getting ambushed by 395738 Arch-Viles "because difficulty"... of course maps like Okuplok and Cosmogenesis aside. EDIT: did Max it, and map two's nasty (bit RNGish) and map six is surprisingly a lot easier if you get an opening in the Arachnos and just use the second part of the map also. Think all in all I needed about an hour for all six maps, enjoyable.
