This new version finally illustrates some 32X muscle. It's too bad that budgets and such prevented tons of hardware from truly shining. I hope that someone, some day, releases a proper 3D0 version of Doom, for the poor single programmer only had like 8-12 weeks to roll out the 3D0 version and it did not utilize the 3D0 hardware very well..such an impossible task.

@@MN12BIRDDoom has a fps cap around 35 fps. Hitting 20 fps is decent for some PC system. Around 486dx.
@Wobbothe3rd14 күн бұрын
@GodKitty677 yeah the 486 would dip as low as 15fps in maby situations even in Doom 2, which was slightly more optimized than OG Doom. You needed a Pentium for perfect 35fps with no dips back then.

Impressive but I don't see how this is playable due to you not being able to strafe as moving side to side to dodge enemy projectiles is crucial.
@MN12BIRD13 күн бұрын
you can easily strafe but circle strafe I'm not sure maybe possible with custom controls or a 3rd party controller (those 6 button Genesis controller with L and R shoulder buttons?) and I believe there's also Sega mouse support here so if you have the mouse you could try that. Might be able to use controller in port one while using mouse in port 2.

@De-M-oN14 күн бұрын
seems a very old version. The exit room has wrong textures too. but even then - its very weird. Zombieman has 20 HP and the max the chainsaw can do in 1 hit is 20dmg. You need to do a 40 dmg hit for gib. Something must be changed here..

Why your chainsaw did at least 40 damage in 1 hit? Zombieman has 20 health. So to be able to gib it, you need to do a hit of 40 dmg or higher. The maximum damage a chainsaw hit can do on the PC Version is 20. How did you gib it? The game is quite edited then. Also the exit room has the wrong wall textures

The Sega CD should have been a next gen system to the Genesis released in late 1993 with the 32x chipset(plus a 68000 at 16mhz for extra processing and Genesis compatibility) and both a cartridge slot and 2x speed cd-rom. Sell it for 299.99 packed in with Virtua Racing 2 with 30 tracks and career mode and a Genesis first party compilation disc. I wouldn't call it Sega CD though I would call it Sega Giga Edge. Games could come on cartride/cd-rom/or combo. Titles at launch or first year would be Doom Fusion.... MK1 and MK2.... Street Fighter 2/CE/Turbo 3 in 1..... Final Fight Arcade..... Golden Axe 1-2 Enhanced..... NBA Run And Gun..... Galaxy Force 3..... Lethal Enforcers..... Streets or Rage 1-2 Enhanced.....
