William Irizarry | Well I agree that Watchmen didn’t need a sequel. That said, since it’s there let’s just see how it goes and aside from a couple of silly jokes that you pointed out, as of now ( I haven’t gone through the rest of the story yet ) it is pretty good at establishing tension, mystery and setting up stakes. And while it’s a shorthand that’s easy, the fact that they’re facing Dr Manhattan and the Watchmen guys does help you care about both sides and expands the scope of the story. You don’t just want to know what the heroes are gonna do, you want to know what everyone is going to do so that’s a plus. I don’t necessarily mind the new Rorschach, he’s just a "copycat" with his own average but inoffensive character that was apparently played by Adrian so that’s fine by me. They could still drop the ball completely later and there is some bullshit in it like the whole "Superman theory" thing but so far it’s doing a pretty effective job at hooking it’s audience.

Look man... I don’t know if it’s how you read it or what... but you got me crying... we all know what it’s like to make a mistake, and we all know what it’s like to feel helpless... I’m a rough person... I’ve had 3 full spinal operations in my life and have become physically and emotionally numb due to the constant pain I’m in... But this story... you reading it... it got to me. When Ronnie is trying with everything he has to bring the glass statues back... when the Soldiers start to destroy them... his anguish, his frustration... it got me... I struggle everyday just to get out of bed... but this... this just amplified that anger and frustration of not being able to change what’s wrong... Thank you Benny. You’re doing a great job. And it’s even breaking through the shell of us bitter crust punks.
