I was at that contest for the pre judging. I flew from Kennedy airport to Orlando and Dorian was on the plane going there and coming back. I even got to congratulate lee Haney at mco Orlando airport before I took my flight back. Haney was the nicest competitor during that era and the best hands down. I have a picture of Dorian back in New York at Kennedy airport because he switched planes🤗

Scott I know this is early on in the process of this segment, but you guys touched on it towards the end of the episode. Why don’t you do a legend’s video (like the levrone one), and try to get a guest in who was there, around those guys, the coach, or even is the legend in the vid…Or have any guest come on and have them pick their favorite vid and you guys just talk shop on it 🤷🏻♂️… First one that comes to mind is a Jay cutler video - where Ron has the famous joke about him eating while watching Jay eating lol. Try to get Jay on, discussing what was going on in his head before 2001 or 2009? Or we at least gotta break down Olympia 2001 or 09. Just throwing out ideas 🙌🏼

Funny story! That elbow bump by Dorian to Haney has a cool story behind it. Someone told Dorian ahead of time that Lee Haney was a bully just to psyche him up I suppose before the Olympia. So Dorian gives that little elbow bump you can see on the film there as a way or showing Haney he means business!! Later on Dorian apologized to Haney and they both laughed about it. Good times haha 💪

thats amazing! thanks for sharing man

I got into bodybuilding when Haney turned pro. Posing was important for back then. NBC would air bodybuilding once a year. Mainly female and mixed pairs. Bodybuilders would routinely go on talk shows. in the 70s and 80s.

I'm not sure if it was just the workouts or supplements or combination, but I made noticeable gains from it. Enough that people started asking if or what I was taking. The same thing happened the first time I took creatine. I'm not sure if the first supps back then actually had something sprinkled in

i just watched a vid of Haney training chest and his arms looked maybe 18.5 inches but he had a great chest and back ie. a torso bodybuilder Yates was similar with his smallish arms my cold flexed arm is 15.75 inches and i weigh a buck 60 and i'm 5'11" (no legs lol) that video of Haney was in 91 so he was in his prime biggest prime
