it's a complex system of spiritual, philosophical, and ritual practices that originated in India several thousand years ago. At its core, tantra is based on the belief that everything in the universe is connected, and that through certain practices and rituals, an individual can tap into the universal energy to achieve spiritual and personal transformation.
