I've been binge watching your videos for a few weeks but I didn't actually make anything until today. I made these and I think they could be a little sweeter but still so moist, soft and delicious😋. I don't have a large muffin tin so I made a dozen cupcakes then baked the rest of the batter in a loaf pan. Thank you for this recipe and I will definitely be baking more. I'm just gonna subscribe now

Gorgeous! Cannot wait to make these. I have to ask tho... aren't these basically unfrosted cupcakes, except that by calling them muffins, we get to eat them for breakfast? 😅
@irishbakerabroad Жыл бұрын
Cupcakes are slightly sweeter and lighter. The batter for this is a bit more dense. When you do them let me know how you get on. Thanks! ☘️

@@irishbakerabroad Thank you for your fantastic & foolproof recipes; I'm a disaster in the kitchen! Plus it's a pleasure listening to your accent, my maternal grandfather's from Cavan, he moved to Italy (Piedmont) in 1959...

Love this recipe Chris. God bless you , I have got back into baking again. All down to you making it sooo easy . I know that you are a Dub but what part of Dublin are you from. I'm from Edenmore myself. Living in ballyjamesduff in cavan now. Miss the old place a lot. Me husband says I need to have a go at your turnover but I only have dried yeast. Jacqui

What is buttermilk?
@irishbakerabroad3 ай бұрын
There are two versions. Modern buttermilk is cultured milk and real old school buttermilk is a byproduct of making butter. It’s the left over liquid once the fat has been separated

You lost me with the chocolate chips. They are never great chocolate and now most companies make them hard waxy and cheap. Back in the day estles actually made a decent product. If you must Ad chunks of hard chocolate(after they cool” use left over candy from Christmas or Easter. Call dad hard solid pieces of maids in the box. But really why would you want to ruin the texture of a soft muffin. I may try this recipe leaving out those waxy chocolate chips. Yes you could buy expensive French or Swiss chocolate but that would defeat the point. The only thing chocolate chips work in chocolate chip cookies and you’re better to buy a block of your own chocolate remaking them and break it up into unusual pieces. This is a picture of killer bugaboo mine and it grows worse each year as well these so-called chocolate companies continue to turn out cheaper and cheaper imitations of what was every day good chocolate Yeah I have had my rent so let’s get back to the handsome chef doing the cooking. Or I should say handsome Baker.
@irishbakerabroad2 ай бұрын
Yeah, it depends on what quality or brand you use. You can get decent quality chocolate chips. But chopped chocolate works wonderfully too! 👌🏻☘️
