For those who have problems running the program. Go to registry: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Valve\Valve Hammer Editor\Custom2DColors", create new dword "UseCustom", set it to 1, then launch Hammer. After that in the same folder a bunch of settings will appear, you can change them manually.

Did you find a way to make the entire hammer editor dark mode? I've been working on my own little edit where I replaced all icons with the Source 2 SDK ones but the standard light theme isn't great.

The only thing you can do is changing your computer to a dark theme. I don't know if this still works for Windows 10, but it certainly does work on Windows 7 - you can even make your own classic theme and Hammer will use whatever colors you tell it to.

@@RedMser yeah this type of thing is what I've been looking for. Windows 10 does not appear to do this (probs bc hammer is decades old).

Can this work with Source 2?

I doubt it, since Source 2 Hammer uses QT for its user interface. But maybe similar color options exists, they're just accessed differently...
