Thank you for having Sal share his testimony. As a Christian struggling, this is really speaking to me. Thank you Father God for reaching out to me in an area where I falter, and I pray that You reach through this podcast to speak to those who are struggling with body image issues as well. I am so blessed to hear the growth in Sal, and it’s so inspiring. Praise God for all the He has done and what He continues to do. Praise Him.

I watch Mindpump every day and love Sal! But this is the first I’ve heard his faith journey in full. I must say, as a long time Christian, you gave me new and impactful inspiration. My husband and I have never practiced prayer together and I went home today and told him that I’m ready to begin out loud prayer together. This is our FIRST out loud prayer together, even though we’ve both been Christians for years, and I can’t thank you enough for helping put this on my heart. Watching God’s plans for you unfold is so amazing. Thank you both for this episode. ❤️❤️

I am fascinated with this. I was also 14 years old when I touched my first weights. My mom had a weight bench in our basement. I loved how it felt both physically and emotionally. It felt like I was taking more control of my life. I was also insecure at a young age. About a year later I became a Christian living with my father and stepmother. I am also very growth oriented, always reading and learning. I am delighted to hear his testimony. That CS Lewis book is very good.

Yeah I just finally got the hang of caloric deficit. All those diets are crap, just actually pay attention to the calories, carbs, sugar, protein, and sodium (more things matter but I focused on those), stop touching ALL fast food (the lowest calorie McDonald’s meal will still put you 2x over even a homemade burger and fries). Just pay attention to the nutrition. Eat whatever you want but don’t eat too much of one thing. Not too much carbs and sugar especially. If you fuck up and have a soda, don’t worry abt it but skip the slice of cake after dinner. Rice and pasta are sneaky carbs. Google a nutrition calculator, be honest abt how much you work out and your current weight. Look at yourself in the mirror EVERY single day and think abt 1 thing you want to improve and one thing you already like abt your body. It won’t change for a while but just keep doing these things and it adds up. And the harder you try the faster you’ll see results. The real important part is to not beat urself up or listen to others. Every time you fuck up just say “I didn’t fuck up the whole day, I can just take a long walk and have a healthier dish for my next meal.” And COMMIT TO IT. That helped me hopefully it helps someone else!!!
@xXmomofanXx3 ай бұрын
And if you work out even just 30 minutes a couple days of the week this becomes way easier. I realized the harder you work out you also can get away with a few more snacks/higher calorie meals. Makes it easier and you will also gain more muscle like they said. Cardio really helps and you don’t have to run you can just jog or walk really slowly. Anything is better than sitting on the couch!!!!

I love how the guys always advocate for getting more steps in with easy tweaks. If you’re in an office, try this: walk quickly around the building, staring at a clipboard or iPad with a worried expression on your face, murmuring “no… that can’t be right… but if we…” You’ll get your steps in AND people will think you’re working on a very important, difficult project.

I see too many young guys in the gym whom are fresh to lifting/exercise. Thoughts on starting with the big 5, Russian 5x5 ? Easy to follow. Builds strength. Then progress to hypertrophy after a 12-16week 5x5. I know nasm strength stability, endurance, and hypertrophy come first, but since this kids want nothing but to get strong and jacked, I feel this is a great way to bridge the gap for a great start with them.

52:00 you prayed to God to tell you what to do. On the way to an appointment. You get to the doctors office and they say you are there by Mistake, you don't have an appointment for that day. That was your first response from God . The second was the homeless man. Often times we get a sign or an answer but we didn't register the answer. Until it's almost being shouted at us 59:43 Free will. People have free will. That's why things happen Good and bad. Sometimes bad things happen to move us because we didn't get the direction the first time

@@AdminOne-hj4dt so your response to someone saying they didn't appreciate getting click-bait thinking they are watching a video on exercise and you spend 45 minutes talking about church, is go elsewhere. Fine, dude, but I'll report the video for misleading content before I unsubscribe. What a jerk. Guess your interview personality is different from your actual personality.
@corncranker3 ай бұрын
So your response to someone saying they didn't appreciate the click-bait advertising of building muscle and getting lean, and then have over half the show about Christian rhetoric is find another channel. I guess I'll report this as misleading thumbnail text, but before I unsubscribe and block the channel. Christianity isn't the only religion out there, and there a lot of people who don't want that crap shoved down their throat. You're turning off millions and millions of people when you do that. I'm actually a christian, but I don't want to listen to it when I'm in the mood for learning about my body and health. Just like I'd complain if I watched a video advertsing religous stuff and then they started talking about how to get the best gains in the gym. A better title for your video might be how to get great gains in the gym and find the Christian God while you do it.
