@121mcvUK3 ай бұрын
To burn fat, build muscle, and potentially live longer, a combination of strategic exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle changes is key. Here's an effective approach that integrates these three goals: 1. High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT): Why: HIIT workouts combine short bursts of intense exercise with periods of rest, maximizing fat burn in a shorter period of time. They increase calorie burn both during and after the workout due to the "afterburn" effect (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption). How: Incorporate exercises like sprints, jump squats, burpees, or kettlebell swings. Aim for 20-30 minutes of HIIT 3-4 times a week. 2. Strength Training: Why: Building muscle boosts metabolism, since muscle burns more calories at rest than fat. Resistance training also improves bone density and promotes long-term health. How: Focus on compound lifts (e.g., squats, deadlifts, bench press) that engage multiple muscle groups. Train 3-5 days per week, with a mix of heavier weights for strength and lighter weights for endurance. 3. Nutrition: Caloric Deficit for Fat Loss: To burn fat, you need to consume fewer calories than you burn, but avoid extreme deficits that compromise muscle retention. Protein Intake: Aim for at least 1.6-2.2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight to promote muscle repair and growth. High-protein foods include chicken, fish, lean meats, legumes, and plant-based protein sources. Healthy Fats and Carbs: Incorporate healthy fats (avocados, nuts, olive oil) and complex carbs (whole grains, vegetables) to fuel workouts and maintain energy. 4. Intermittent Fasting (Optional): Why: Intermittent fasting (e.g., 16/8 method: 16 hours of fasting, 8-hour eating window) can help reduce calorie intake, improve insulin sensitivity, and promote fat loss while preserving muscle. How: Fast for a set period (e.g., 16 hours) and consume all meals within an 8-hour window. During fasting, drink water, coffee, or tea to stay hydrated. 5. Prioritize Sleep and Recovery: Why: Quality sleep is essential for muscle recovery, hormone balance (especially testosterone and growth hormone), and overall health. Lack of sleep increases cortisol levels, which can lead to fat retention and muscle breakdown. How: Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep per night. Include rest days in your workout routine and use active recovery methods like stretching, yoga, or foam rolling. 6. Stress Management: Why: Chronic stress elevates cortisol, which can increase fat storage, especially around the abdomen, and impede muscle growth. How: Practice stress-reduction techniques like meditation, deep breathing, mindfulness, or hobbies that relax you. 7. Longevity Strategies: Caloric Control: Moderating your calorie intake has been linked to increased lifespan and improved metabolic health. Cardiovascular Exercise: Regular cardio (like walking, cycling, or swimming) improves heart health and reduces the risk of chronic diseases. Functional Movements: Include exercises that mimic real-life movements, such as squats, lunges, and push-ups. These keep your body strong and mobile as you age. Sample Weekly Plan: Day 1: Strength Training (Full-body workout) Day 2: HIIT (20-30 minutes) Day 3: Rest or light cardio (walking, cycling) Day 4: Strength Training (Upper body) Day 5: HIIT (20-30 minutes) Day 6: Strength Training (Lower body) Day 7: Rest or active recovery (stretching/yoga) This balanced approach ensures fat loss, muscle gain, and overall health improvements that can contribute to longevity.

What are the side effects of taking amino acids? The most common adverse effect is transient water retention in the early stages of supplementation. Some studies report muscle cramps, dehydration, gastrointestinal distress (vomiting, diarrhea) and liver dysfunction.

Yes Brecka is just wrong about this, he is unfortunately often slightly off about biology, in other podcasts he talks about methylation when the pathway is really carboxilation for example. There are amino acids that are more common in collagen, chiefly glycine. While not essential the body is efficient and will readily use an amino acid if it’s available instead of synthesizing it. Considering how much of the body is collagen it makes sense to get more of those amino acids directly, it might even bring down your overall protein requirements.

Yes. So, you do the breaths, then hold on the exhale as long as poss, then breathe in, hold for about 15 seconds...start the cycle again. I have the Wim Hof breathing app and that's how it's done. Interesting ideas about cold water and cold plunge benefits to add that you can sprint swim or long distance swim so this doesn’t have to be running that on concrete can shock joints. Breathing in the water is a good respiration exercise which will expand your lung capacity and lengthen your lung size. The other aspect of breath control can also be gained through playing musical wind instruments and breathing from your diaphragm. So there are other ways in life style that can be worked into how you use breath.

I think it entirely depends on where Ur ancestral physiology is from. For example in central Africa tribes have an extremely varied balanced diet with many medicinal herbs and plants whilst also eating meat on their hunts. Whereas the psami people in Nordic regions strictly ate carnivore full fat. There is no one diet for all, to disregard the medicinal and nutritional benefits of herbs is very dangerous. Ultimately the least processed u eat, the healthier u will be.
