And of course, a German car fanboy will argue "well if you can afford a Mercedes or BMW, you can afford the repairs." Yeah that's not the point. You think I have nothing better to do with my time to constantly spend it in the dealership because the stupid car can't go 6 months without an issue? No thanks. Juan Zingarello well said ,that’s what Lexus IS all about. Its a luxury car that’s easy to live with and these cars perform so well and the fit and finish is excellent, yes Lexus made some mistakes but what car company hasn’t. Lexus’s goal is to build a luxury car that’s well made and reliable, which is why they don’t dump all that insane Hp. I’ve owned many Lexus vehicles u get just as much attention as you do in a German car and actually sometimes you get even more attention in a Lexus. These cars are also so reliable and drives extraordinary well. The performance that Lexus vehicles give you is nothing to argue with either. These testers seriously need to get there facts straight. I’m pretty sure Lexus can throw a thousand hp in there car if they wanted to but they chose not too. The company chose to put there focus on other things. Hence why they have the best interiors and in my opinion the best quality and looks. They didn’t just focus on power and numbers. When they wanted to prove there point they built the LFA👌

Not exactly. I'd say it's more that you need to have a good build quality for a truly luxury product. Fun fact: The LC comes in a structural blue color. This paint job has absolutely no blue pigmentation in it. You know how when light hits a prism you can see multiple colors? That’s what they did with structural blue. In the paint, they used materials of the blue pigmentation which have no color but not the pigmentation itself. So the car is actually a clear color but because of the way the light hits the car and the material used in the paint, we perceive it as the structural blue.

What's "structural" about it?
@nicholasmaher91755 жыл бұрын
There is no pigment in the paint, blue or not, or is there? If we widen the interpretation of what a pigment is, only slightly, what Lexus does is create a very special exclusive blue pigment. That is not a criticism of their efforts. I would love to see a Structural Red. "A pigment is a material that changes the color of reflected or transmitted light as the result of wavelength-selective absorption." This is how humans see any and all color, what is absorbed at our eyes. Most if not all insect coloration comes from microscopic structure. This is exactly what happens when the 2 non-blue core components in this finish (aluminum and zinc sulfide) combine in their "pigment" creation process. It's like the ultimate Candy Apple Blue when "painted" on to the car. It can be seen even in very low light levels because it reflects light so well.

@@questionyourself718 that's why I said he's not "just" used to" (meaning only) German cars. He drives many different ones, so he is used to many cars. I've literally driven thousands of cars, and after a while, every car has a familiar feel, instead of that new awkward feeling of being in a make/model you've never driven. That feeling just goes away after being in so many different cars.

Lexus has never had a bad car And Doug I;am 65 and driven just about every make of refined so call upmarket cars. Lexus is above most in quality, reliability, and sheer driving pleasure. You need to be honest with yourself and drive an old LS400 for awhile and you will fall in love with a car that Toyota created that blow the opposition out of the water. I am proud to tell people that l own and drive a Lexus regardless of the badge. Tell me what 1990 car has electric head rests, the best Leather that money could buy, 4litre 32 valve super smooth engine that is capible of doing some incredible amount miles. Your saying $100000 is alot of money for a Lexus, well here in Australia we will have to wait on a list just to get one, and l believe their around $180000. Their are very few cars on the road that can get both things right, Engineering and quality. So Doug try and treat Lexus with respect and then we might try and respect your views. I;am on my third Lexus and will not change. Thats my say.

Yeah Lexus makes high quality cars, but selling sports card under the Lexus name will be difficult cause let’s be honest, the name and badge is boring. I would love to see them make a new offshoot of their company for performance, as fiat to Abarth. Also yeah these cars are super reliable, being made by Toyota who make the unkillable cars...

Never clicked a dislike on a comment faster. Fuck your turbos and tiny engines.
@DoubleCGamesStudios7 жыл бұрын
Rn N Indeed turbo engines are less reliable. The problem is nowadays everybody goes smaller and turbocharged is because of the emission problems. Though it has kind of been "proved" that those turbo engines don't make such a great difference from a bigger, NA variant. That being said, I would really like to see manufacturers use NA engines again, it's a pity to have a turbo V6 where you should have a V8, or a turbo I4 where you should have a V6.
@frankmazzur56747 жыл бұрын
V6 turbos are the trend, but for the stupidest reason ever. For EPA/CAFE standards, on the mileage test loop, they test as getting better mileage. But in the real world they don't-often worse in real world.
@frankmazzur56747 жыл бұрын
DoubleC It's all about the EPA test, where they never touch the turbo!! In the real world NA is better in every way.
