I'm a gay guy too and I DO NOT embrace identity politics. I get annoyed that the majority of the population think that we all embrace identity politics but we don't and then it reflects badly on us an d it just causes us all to get hate because a small group of the gay community do embrace it and fellow enablers try and spread it too and it just reflects badly on the whole community. Thank goodness there are people out there Douglas and Zuby who prove that not all the black community and all the gay community believe in this awful agenda driving that society has now been infected with.

Douglas Murray is common sense trying to sound profound. He has an elite education at Eton and Oxford University but he is far from an intellectual. He's merely a well read man with an elite education nothing more nothing less but not a thinker or mind of any profundity. If you have an elite education and can speak in a high class accent your viewed as an intellectual which is nonsensical. The term has become redundant because any truly educated man or woman will be a child of reason and empiricism which was born of the enlightenment and scientific progress. It's because education no longer teaches the great books of the western canon or the innovative ideas of western intellectual history such as descartes or Immanuel Kant why people would view Douglas Murray as an intellectual because people simply doesn't know how to think or are thought how to think in any rigorous or methodological way especially when we have reactionary doctrines against reason and rational thinking such as postmodernism philosophy piercing through the humanities and the social sciences. An education of any substantial value can only be acquired through a marginal choices of academic disciplines namely the natural sciences and mathematics because of their intellectual rigor and falsification methodology

@Hope For the Planet No no....A couple of years back he made a statement about the absurdity of men competing in women's sports...So for a day, he "identified as a woman" at the gym, and broke every female record for weightlifting with almost no effort. It was genius. :)

@Hope For the Planet Wayne E is correct. @Zuby posted a tweet with a short video of him doing his normal workout, with the caption that he had just broken the UK weightlifting record. In short order he set Twitter on fire and had blue checkmarks Reeeeeeing from the heavens. It was pretty hilarious at the time and that was his big break into more mainstream internet commentary. He had a bunch of really articulate and brilliant interviews right afterwards that cemented his rise to prominence.

Really impressive, and seemed to engage Douglas far better than a lot of other interviews. Murray is amazing and his columns are universally thought provoking, but I sometimes fear that if you've seen one of his interviews, you've seen all of them. Not so in this case, he keeps away from his well trodden points and seems a lot more conversational - Zuby can and should take massive credit for the quality of this interview. I'll definitely be watching more of his stuff in future.

Zuby really seemed familiar with Murray's work and interested in knowing more about him, which made this a fantastic conversation. This is the first time I've heard Time's Arrow be mentioned in a conversation like this and it's emblematic of why I like listening to Douglas Murray despite the fact that we're on opposite sides of economic policy positions.
