There's not enough evidence to support the claim that Jesus rose from the dead. And even if he did, thats not enough to conclude that he is Lord. And the whole idea about sacrificing himself to himself to create a loop hole to his own rules is absurd to begin with.

Eyewitnesses of his death fled in terror when he was arrested, but in the end all turned into powerful, articulate church leaders who died gruesome deaths for their faith. That transformation is not explainable without them witnessing his resurrection. Even the existence of the Christian Church today, despite so many flawed people and actions across centuries, cannot be explained without it. Evil cannot be explained without the existence of good, nor can values and morality. The scientific order and predictability of the universe is unexplainable without an intelligent designer behind it. Finally, if you want evidence, ask God to prove himself to you. It is the most important topic you will ever wrestle with, so you’d better be diligent rather than blithely ignorant about it.

I am a Jew seeking Christ who just made pork ribs for a men's dinner and I expect to put $40 in the collection plate on Sunday. This is generally where I leave the conversation. I understand this man and like his message, but if you're going to mingle with secularist and I do think it was a mistake to make America a secularist country (for the most part) any argument from faith is going to be thrown out or unconvincing to a devout atheist. If I say "I'm going to be born to die, but I know that when I die I will be reborn 3 days later then live forever" that sounds a pretty sweet deal to me. It does more harm than good to non believers.

The strange message that I got from listening to his observation was the following: If the possibility of life being taken away from you applies in any way to your existence, by definition you cannot be God. The Bible's own description of mankind as a whole is that they will be caused to die, then resurrected. How then, does this single fact of resurrection make Jesus special if all of mankind will experience this? It doesn't, he is special because he is an exemplary messenger, an emissary from the Almighty. Everything else about him can be said of other people and prophets...

I don't think you comprehend His Atonement for our sins and afflictions. His suffering as he prayed in Gethsemane as he experience each and everything that each of us would experience, sins as well as wrongs inflicted on us, and illnesses was so great that He bled from every pore. All this suffering so that he would know what we as individuals were suffering. If you do not accept Him and His sacrifice, then you are on your own.

If someone hit your car either they would have to pay for it or you could forgive them by suffering the loss yourself. Similarly, we were made by God and for God’s glory. We are meant to be like Him, but when we fail to be like Him in His honesty, goodness, righteousness and so on we cause damage to His glory. So, either we must pay for the damage we have done or God must pay for the damage we have done. God chose to pay for us by sending His Son to do the job we failed to do. Jesus was the perfect representative and image of God! All who believe in Him have the righteous life Jesus lived attributed to them as though they did the works of Jesus themselves. Everyone who rejects Jesus must stand before God and be judged by their own works. Do you believe?

@@SergioMunozM hey! Ty for replying. All sin is damage done against God’s glory. So, God’s glory is the car that was hit. We are all the ones who have hit His car. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. You could also consider the laws of thermodynamics. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. I believe God has made our universe this way to teach us this point: that an offense against God is enormous and it will have a counter reaction. We don’t usually see our sins as enormous, but that’s because we are sinners and evil people don’t see their evil as being very evil. But God sees perfectly and He must either extract punishment from us for the offending of His glory or He must punish Jesus on our behalf.

Because if God just forgave you, He would be unjust and a liar. He said the soul that sins shall die. He can't violate His own word, lest He be a liar. Moreover, if He doesn't make you pay the penalty, He'd be unjust. So this is the dilemma. How CAN God legally forgive your debt and still come out as just and true to His word?

Through my life , I have ran into people that said that very same thing, but lacked the fruit in his/her life that they were saved. Thinking of this I say the devil and his army of demons know the Bible is true. They know Jesus rose from the dead so do willful opposition humans. I do not believe people that know the truth have the holy spirit, but they have been convicted or convinced of this truth saw how difficult it was the denial self , and trust in Christ and decided to live their own way contrary to the commands of scripture . This is different than the opposition of the flesh and the spirit and the struggle with sin , but a willful opposition to the words written in scripture. I believe people and am convinced that people can have head knowledge of the truth and may even profess Jesus and lord but do not honor him as lord in their heart . So they use their lips to confess but no not kneel in their heart . That’s not a Christian , that’s no different than demons theology . If you are not trusting in God, but rather trusting in yourself or others to or human wisdom, then what is the sole purpose of your profession , to deceive yourself ? The soul knows. The word of God is active, it pierces the soul; so if a person doesn’t kneel in their heart there’s no peace .

I would be happier if he used historical prophecies of the coming of Christ, as in John the Baptist’ prophecies, or the burning bush before Moses, or any number of prophecies in the Old Testament. We could then say we have sufficient evidence supporting the claim that Christ is King. But merely saying, “Christ is King because I believe it” is not exactly persuasive.

Jesus is Life, and gives eternal life to anyone who believes. Who God chooses for specific purposes is another matter entirely. He does not choose or elect people to eternal life.
