There are a few suggestions worth trying Work out why you are shy - the first step to solving a problem is understanding why it is there. Be comfortable about yourself - this makes it less difficult Just do it - you will feel better by doing things - especially by doing activities that stretch your limits. (I read these and more ideas from Martos magic method website )

Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you. They're either lonely, they're missing somebody, they're depressed, they're hurt, they're scarred from the past, they're having personal issues no one knows about, they have secrets you wouldn't believe. They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now, they are sitting here reading these words, and I'm writing this for you so you dont feel alone anymore. Always remember, don't be depressed about the past, don't worry about the future, and just focus on today. If today's not so great don't worry! Tomorrow's a new chance. If you are reading this, be sure to share this around to make others feel better. Have a nice day. :)

One day, about 10 years ago, I sat down and asked myself this question: " Bob, what is the longest relationship you have had in your life?" and the answer was easy, "Why, with ME of course!" ergo " I AM the only expert on my life, so why am I listening to other people telling me there is something wrong with me". I now know that all of me is ok!

Were you resistant to therapy until you tried it? When did you decide to go down this road towards evaluating your beliefs and experiences in childhood?
@MsMuddled4 жыл бұрын
Bob Eden - a psychotherapist helped me explore my childhood, which I had always expected was the root of my MDD; MDD didn't manifest until several decades afterwards (when another tragedy seemed to trigger everything). She was the first counsellor that started with my childhood, after several decades of attempting counselling which was somewhat helpful, for support at least.This counsellor that helped me was the fifth counsellor. I still struggle, but I try to use some of the help she gave me during our limited number of sessions. Call me a kindred spirit.

Thank you for this video. I have a similar story. I was in a relationship with my ex-fiance and was blind-sided when he called off our wedding. After we separated I fell out of contact with several of our mutual friends. I also lost the dog we had together. And after a year of this my mom fell into a severe drug addiction and our relationship became toxic so I made the decision to cease contact with her and she has not contact me in over two years. I have a SIGNIFICANTLY smaller support system now and feel chronic loneliness. I believe the lack of human connection has caused my depression. I believe that love, an abundantly strong support system, and human connection can help ease (and maybe even cure) depression for some people. I hope to recover like you did!

I've recenly just told my parents about how bad my depression has become. I was prescribed medication to make me feel better but now being about a week in the side effects juat aren't worth it. I must be an idiot though because that wont solve the problem at hand. I have decided to do counseling and push myself to do things I am normally to anxious to do. Even writing this comment is not at all something I would do. Feel free to give me an opinion on this.

Pushing yourself to do things that you would normally not to is an excellent idea. Over time, the things you had a hard time doing will become easier. Many people who recover from anxiety or depression use this technique

Rosangela, How are you now ? To feel better reduce negative thoughts. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives good relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Do the practice without any expectations. When taking a walk, at office, in college, when reading, before sleep etc observe your breath sensations. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a better life. Reduce negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes--Counsellor.

Thank you so much. I'm dealing with depression right now and I've never had it this bad before. I'm so sorry you went through this. Mine has only started about a week ago.. It feels like forever ago. I just got out of a 3 year relationship and I didn't think it would have this impact on my life. I can't eat or sleep much I have suicidal thoughts. I really need to pray to god more. I feel like it won't end. I'm 25 years old but I feel like I'll never be able to talk to another girl again. I miss her so much but I know it won't work with her. But I still love her. I'm not supposed to think about that or think about her but that's all I can think about. It feels like it's not getting better, but I will continue to pray and wait for it to get better because I believe it can and it will. Thank you for sharing the inspirational video. I hope when I'm fully recovered I can post on as well.

+bassinassasin90 Hi. I'm just a stranger but your text inspired me to reply. I think something really hard can become beautiful. You love her to death and that is something you should be proud of. Even if you two can't be together. I also love people I don't fit with. And people love me though we can't even talk again. Love is not about having the person next to you, it's the feeling inside, that you have met someone who gave you three years of adventures and bright days. Take it with you. Make it your part of your book. And start writing next chapter. You never know where you'll get or who you'll meet, you are worth the best your life has to offer, and to love someone, is to let them go. So cry it out, write a "goodbye" note, and throw it. Make sure you YOU get to feel a closure. Then start creating a list of 10 things you want in life, right now. See the possabilities you couldn't do when being in a relationship. Make this your best movie in life, where you are the director, because you are, and god dammit I have been through so much heartbreak that I seriusly think my heart is trade for a fake one, but so be it, I managed to accept forgive and move on. To understand that nothing is a garantuee, and to se the joy in that, enjoy moments where they at. Be your best friend and have fun with life. For me it helped to talk about it, write poems, listen to sad songs, cry to movies, and then helping others. You are not less worth single, you are not less worth because she said a no, you are always worthy the best, remember that.

04:35 I tried to explain this point to a public health counselor who persisted in telling me neat tidbits like "70% of what your brain tells your are lies so you just need to ignore them long enough and they'll go away." They didnt understand that these thoughts wasnt a downward loop of negative rumination. It was a constant storm in my head 24/7 that I could not shut off. Distracting myself, work, sleep, lay on the couch all day, get shitfaced drunk (bad idea, dont drink when depressed, just dont). The emotional torment of that mental storm was always 100%. In other words, I had no control over my own mind anymore and I felt like I was going insane from the mental storm, emotional pain and sleep deprivation. And that lasted for 3-4 months untill the anxiety died down and I was left with only the depression. When that kind of anxiety and depression interchange, that's a special part of hell.
