@@celestinevalan7566 it’s really the same game TSW 6,7,8,9 and up already exist cause it’s the same game as TSW1 just cause there’s minor bug fixes and over all little fixes doesn’t make a game a entire new title. Witch is why I’d want each TSW title to be entirely free if you already own TSW and no it shouldn’t be free for a limited time only like they are doing with TSW5 it should be forever for each title (that’s if you own any of the previous TSW games of course) The only things customers like you and I should be paying for are the DLC’s

I think the LNWR license issue might have more to do with LNWR potentially losing their franchise soon than anything to do with TSW or DTG. UK railways are about to have a major shakeup as Starmer's government wants to re-nationalize Uk railways.

Indeed, I think the situation with people trying to contact LNWR directly was wrong. They have their reasons for doing so. But.... best case scenario, they can turn it around, but worst case scenario, it will end up as a UK version of NEC New York - Trenton. All criticism is valid, despite what the fanboys may have you believe

People do cross lines that they shouldn’t cross. They should have asked Dovetail first before initiating contact those who are Dovetail are working with. People do have harsh criticisms for Dovetail in general in the comments in internet space. I just hope TSW5 is a measurable improvement.

Let me translate this for you: We will not fix the OHLE (because we never do), we will add the suspension in a few months and claim we're doing a ton of maintenance on our abandonware, then once we're in TSW 6 or 7 we'll pull the same BS by finally fixing the timetable. But then it's definitely done, don't even bother with the licensing. If you're fine with DTGs business practices here, feel free to buy. I will not.

I think they should let players who already own TSW get any new TSW entirely for free at anytime but if they want the new routes they'd just have to buy them as a DLC of course. Just like Train simulator classic, whenever the name changes us people who already own it should it get free.

That’s how it is. Have you read the announcements? The base game is free whether you have TSW or not. You only have to pay for the new routes.

Seems to me like they are just rushing to get the game out, rather than concentrating on getting a good product out. If this is going to be the path they take releasing a new game every year then we shouldn't be seeing silly things like missing suspension, missing OHLE etc. The license issue I get as it's down to Transport UK to give permission to use their branding & in the scheme of things it makes no difference to the game play.

I was sitting on the fence lasy year for the upgrade from TSW3 to TSW4, getting a little tired of paying for the same game each year. Have the same dilemma for TSW5 but Dovetail have lost me as a future consumer given their yearly money grab with very little improvement in the underlying engine. I'll take the free upgrade but I'm not putting any more money into this.

You get three new routes for £36 if you pre-order. £12 a route. Plus the additions. It's decent value and keeps the game being developed.

@@skybluerob1 Understand your point but it's the underlying engine/gameplay improvements were having to pay for every year. We've got suspension and track shadow improvements this year. How long has this game been out? And every year we're being asked to pump another £40 in to it. Each to their own, if you're content then good for you. Just commenting that it's not for me this time round.

They are capable of releasing longer and better routes this is rushed and money grab. I play tsw 4 a lot, but always something is not correct or good. 390 should be included as normal and certainly not a route only to Milton Keynes 😅😅 Birmingham NS or Wolverhampton would have been fine. But again another pointless route like the ECML Peterborough to Doncaster who ever wanted that, no branches no stations only 4. Sub Standard products premium cost. Like they are sponsored by Ryanair 😅

In the past I defend Dovtail, but after TSW3, I have stoped. I understand that they are a company, and i am realistic. However, TSW4 was the first gen I didn't buy at launch. Instead I waited for a sale to get the Vectron. I was genuinelyexcited about the WCML and the German route. However, it is hard for me to pay more than $50 for a game that doesn't even have a proper logo. TSW has always had bugs and things that should be fixed, but at least Dovetail was consistent. You could generally expect the same quality (including bugs) from route to route. Recently, that doesn’t seem to be true. It's becoming difficult to trust that you are going to get a decent game. I think this is going to be the worst launch in the TSW franchise because of this. I hope they fix the mess that it currently is.

I agree with you about the criticism of the criticism, mate! In my personal opinion, I believe it’s a sense of trying to justify the purchase to oneself by dismissing and being generally hostile towards criticism. I say this because that was very much me until relatively recently That said, when criticism becomes unconstructive and sometimes downright hurtful, only in those cases do I believe that the misguided criticism you address at the start of the video is slightly more valid. But, of course, this isn’t really a common case. Regardless, fantastic insight as per usual mate, thank you!

They simply cannot sustain the current release schedule. Simple as that. They don’t have the capacity to make the routes needed to justify a new game. Until that changes nothing will change.

Not sure if this helps at all, but regarding the class 350 and suspension, they said the suspension was giving a lot of issues at high speed, so they made the decision to remove it, and add an improved version after launch.
