@Jayo Delaware - This actually is healthy. She clearly stated in the video that she's using homemade cashew milk, and that people can use the milk option/alternative of their choice. There are also non-dairy yogurt options available for the small amount of yogurt in the recipe. You're being negative for no reason, and you obviously didn't even bother to pay attention to any details in the video because she mentions the cashew milk and non-dairy yogurt at the very beginning.

I don’t normally leave comments, but I had to give my thoughts on this video. This is probably the best recipe for overnight oats I have tried (and I’ve tried tons). This is a great base recipe to do whatever you want, with whatever flavor you want. The consistency is perfectly smooth, and still very substantial. Almost pudding-like. The perfect size for single serving. I can’t say enough about this recipe. Simply perfection. All the recipes on this channel are perfect and work perfectly every time. Seriously!!!

Fantastic Video! Do you realize how many times I've stood there, waiting for the water to boil to make oatmeal the conventional way -- thinking: "There MUST be a better way!"? This is it! Thank you so much. Hint: you can put the jar into a pot and add hot tap water for ~5 minutes to warm your breakfast, or meal, up -- in colder weather.

I usually put it into a bowl and warm it up in the microwave then top with sliced bananas, when available. I can buy 4 bunches of bananas and they will be gone before the end of a week. seven adults and two toddlers who all love bananas. The oats still hold their form and don't get mushy. I still cook steel cut oats. Sometimes for a different taste sensation, I will cook them in strong coffee instead of water. Of course also add water other flavor items I like during the cooking.

There's more reason than the ease of use. Apparently there's a boost to the nutritional value of the oats when soaked overnight..

🙂 Been having these for breakfast for a few years now. They are extremely satisfying, because they give slow release energy and stop you snacking. If I eat it at 7.30am, it keeps me going until lunch at 1.30pm. I use just under half cup of organic raw steel cut oats, a handful of mixed raw trail mix (dried dates, seeds, nuts) and vanilla almond milk to soak overnight. In the morning add some yogurt (optional), and cinnamon, and maybe some fresh fruit (if I have any on hand). Favourite combos are : grated apple with walnuts, blueberries with a dollop of peanutbutter, or banana with walnuts. Really loving both walnuts and hazelnuts in the mix.

Is the yogurt just used to lend tanginess here? Or is it more of a chemistry thing, where the bacteria within are used to “break down” the oats for aiding digestion or something? I could make sense of the other ingredients, but the yogurt threw me off a little lol

@@corpsefoot758 . For added taste only.. Sometimes I avoid yogurt. Just depends what I fancy that day.

I started making these a couple of weeks ago, after watching your video, substituting in almond milk. So far I've tried it as just the base recipe, topping off with either raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries, but the pina colada one is by far the best. I'm also now stirring in an extra 1/4 cup of almond milk in the morning, just before eating, which I've found improves the texture more to my taste.

You could do fresh peaches, chopped pecans or almonds, some cinnamon if you like, and top with a dallop of whipped cream or yogurt.

Love this! I like mine with flavored yogurt, strawberry & banana or strawberry. I have yet to try it with plain vanilla. I then add chopped strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and cruchy granola the following morning. Taste so good! I know the fruit will add flavor to plain vanilla. I'll try it soon, but i love how it currently taste. I also use 1 part maple syrup and 1 part honey so i get an even mixture of both which gives it an extra sense of sweetness ❤ thanks for the inspo!!! Helps on morning of work and when i have to go out of town to avoid stopping for fast food 🫠

Thank you so much for sharing this, I had to call my daughter who is into healthy eating and knows how to use a variety of healthy stuff to find out how to use Chia seeds, I'm slowly changing how I eat for health concerns and this was been so, so good to follow, I will be implementing this as soon as I purchase glass jars small enough to hold enough to take to work in the mornings! Again, thanks for all the suggestions, I guess eating healthy doesn't have to be complicated!
