There’s nothing mysterious about these planes. They’re legacy F/A-18 Hornets that belong to the US Marines. The US Navy no longer uses the legacy Hornets having replaced all of them with the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornets and transferred most of their legacy Hornets to the Marines.

The fighters Jets shown are using the former Subic Naval Base for landing and departure aside from F16 and F22 being deployed at former Clark Air Base .There is large air base near Clark , an EDCA designated site that will be used by most US aircrafts including large aircrafts ,the Basa Air Base in Pampanga

F/A-18 Hornets in USMC squadrons, they're baseline models of newer & more capable F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. Sadly USMC deactivating more training squadrons
