Caught the Growlers at Jones Beach this year. They’ve really refined their demonstration since I saw them last at St Louis 2019. Unfortunately we weren’t treated to a historical aircraft to join them but they put on a good show regardless.

I don't think it is really it just hits the ear different. I live near Luke AFB and saw the Growler team recently and forgot how loud the super hornet is.

Airshow here in Lincoln, NE the Blue Angels. The first flight was 2 Growlers, and I must say they were by far the loudest of any other demo. I believe their afterburner was used 95 percent of time.
