This is likely the ballsiest and most courageous film-maker I've ever seen. Between movies like The Lost Boys, Prince of Tides, The Client, A Time to Kill, and (especially!!) 8mm... Joel Schumacher makes movies that ethically punch you right in the gut and refuse to let you off of the hook.

Not sure if he's a chomo, but he's definitely gay. If you watch his movies... many of them include either baby-faced kids, pretty boys, beef cake, all-the-above or basically other various forms of homo-erotica.

RIP Joel Schumacher you have giving us a lot of fascinating movies we always love to watch again and again and I would rather watch your Batman movies more than the Zack Synder DC movies he directed because you are better at making personality than Zack Synder.
