I have learned more watching ur breakdowns and mentally visualizing what u talk about in ur videos than going to wrestling or bjj class. Knowing how to do something and understanding how something works in its entirety are two diff concepts. Thank u for these videos they are truly enlightening. Keep doing what ur doing. More ppl should be watching these breakdowns. They are seriously missing out on some good technical knowledge. Thanks again man ur a gentleman n a scholar.

Great to hear that. Out of curiosity are you hitting it off the opponent's collar tie or off an inside tie (like Sidakov usually does)?

These are awesome. After watching one I feel confident to do the move. I think a lot of it has to do with using these live examples to see exactly how they are used, and slowing them down, breaking them down is a perfect formula for mentally learning the move. I watch standard instructional vids which are fine but these translate a lot more info

I love this type of takedown for its transferability to self defense since you don’t need to get your knees to the ground which can be pretty brutal on modern man-made surfaces such as concrete, tile, and hardwood floors.

Good details. But J.Oliver's overtie shrug on 1:15 is pretty much another move, i think. As main factor there is forcing your opponent to go forward and down with your overtie hand.

@@DPSBreakdowns ye I've played around with it and caught the odd guy. But most of the time the arm gets caught and i don't wanna do it fast in case I blow my partner's elbow. I think it works better in match when the opponent is pressuring hard with a low stance and your not afraid to apply the technique with maximum effort.
@brianegal22869 ай бұрын
Sidakov is a MONSTER!!! Burroughs beat Kyle Dake for a full decade. To see Sidakov be so much faster and more technical than Dake is wild!
@TasosZagos2 жыл бұрын
for this slide by to work the opponent has to lean into you and put pressure correct? if he is standing still or passive like bjj players it doesn't have the momentum needed. thoughts?
@zenly_csgo2 жыл бұрын
oppponent have to defend your hand fighting , if he avoids ties and grips - in freestyle wrestling he would be warned . loose points and etc, Opponent just have to attack and it means moving forward by handfighting or leg attacks, ig your handfighting is good you can chancel opponents leg attacks. Sidakov is awesome at handfighting so have ton of tools to beat you if you passive
