It was incredibly enlightening, and the case studies only served to strengthen my belief that developed from my analysis of the case that indicated some form of family cover-up. This information is not all-inclusive but provides an overview of the behavioral symptoms seen with this childhood disorder: Research into sexually aggressive children was described as being in its “infancy” in the mid1990s. (It appears that the earliest studies on this topic only dated to 1980.) The average onset of preadolescent sexual behavior problems (SBP) are between the ages of 6-9 years Although the term “sexual” is used, the children’s intentions and motivations for these behaviors may be unrelated to sexual gratification. Children act out for many varied reasons. Some may have been the prior victims of sexual abuse. Some may act out due to other behavioral problems related to PTSD, anger, fear, or emotional detachment. Sexual acting out has been linked to anger, rage, loneliness, and fear. FBI UCR reports in 1979 revealed 249 rape arrests for children less than 12 years of age. Sixty-six of those children were under the age of 10. Early research conducted in the 1980s provided evidence that preadolescent children’s behaviors can be as aggressive and violent as those of adolescents and adults. FBI UCR discontinued reporting the age of offenders in 1980, but the National Center for Juvenile Justice reported a forcible rape rate of .02 per 1000 for 10 and 11 year olds in 1988. 1990 FBI and media reports in this time period indicate that among adults convicted of sex crimes, approximately 30% said they began offending before they were 9 years old. A 1991 study revealed that some children engaged in behaviors that involved fire-setting, bed-wetting, animal mutilation, and scatological behaviors- (disturbed bodily functions related to urination and elimination). A 1993 nationwide survey of SBP therapists identified preadolescent behaviors in 222 children that ranged from voyeurism to coercion: The more serious offenses involved digital penetration, penile intercourse, anal intercourse, bestiality, and ritualistic or sadistic sexual abuse. Another 1993 survey conducted in the Northwest revealed that some offenders used physical coercion that included tying up their victims. Offenders lack compassion, empathy, and exhibit inadequate social skills.

@Vincent Cuttolo Offenders lack compassion, empathy, and exhibit inadequate social skills. A victim may be the object of revenge or anger and could be viewed as the parent’s “favored child” by the perpetrator. Families frequently attempt to portray themselves to the world as the “perfect” family. Co-morbidity: SBP patients have a higher incidence of psychiatric disorders that include, but are not limited to, attachment disorder and separation anxiety. Revelation of these clinical case studies and the emerging national recognition of this childhood behavioral disorder was in its infancy at the time of JonBenét’s death, but confirmed what I had occasionally witnessed in the District Attorneys’ weekly SART meetings: Children of Burke’s age had been proven capable of sexually abusing their siblings and others.

@drag0nfly_girl No it hasn't! The DNA "evidence" that supposedly cleared the family was a tiny bit of DNA in her underwear that didn't belong to her family. That could have gotten there in any number of ways, even from the manufacturing process, as was explained in the 2016 documentary investigation. Trace DNA is left behind everywhere - if you sat on a bus, a stranger's DNA could easily get on your pants, and if you went home and put those pants on a chair, the DNA could be left on the chair. Then you do some laundry and put it on the chair, and voila, stranger's DNA on your underwear. If your underwear was tested for DNA right now, it's quite possible they'd find rogue DNA. It has been established that because the family was wealthy, they were able to use their influence to prevent the police and FBI from properly investigating. The DA refused to indict the parents even though the jury had called for it, and lied to the press by suggesting the jury didn't think there was enough evidence - there was a gag order, so the jury couldn't tell anyone that they'd voted to indict and the DA had ignored it. The investigators were told to handle the parents with kid gloves because they were wealthy - for goodness sake, they weren't even interviewed by the police until four MONTHS after JonBenet died! In any normal investigation into the murder of a child, the parents and other family members are always the first people to be interviewed. Even if the parents had had nothing to do with it, the police would have lost the chance to gather information that could have led to the killer. I think that 2016 documentary presented compelling (virtually overwhelming) evidence that Burke most likely killed the girl (perhaps/probably unintentionally) with a heavy flashlight in a fit of anger. He was under the age he could be tried with a crime in that state by about two weeks. His parents probably didn't know the age was 10, but even if they did, they most likely just wanted to preserve the image of the one child they had left, and their own public face in the process. I think it's disgusting what they did, and very, very selfish. Their daughter is sacrificed for a boy who, judging by his police interviews, didn't give a crap that she was dead. And to stage the crime scene like that, with the stupid garrote and the rope handcuffs and the ri-di-culous ransom note, is a further insult and degradation of their daughter. There is simply no evidence that a stranger killed JonBenet. She was left in the basement of the family's own house! The ransom letter was written with a pen and paper that belonged to Patsy, which meant it would had to have been written inside the house. So a stranger comes in, planning to abduct the daughter but without a pre-written ransom note, writes out the note on the family's stationery (which is a virtual epistle and drew upon quotes from movies for inspiration) - which, in the documentary, they established would have taken at least 20 minutes just to copy it, let alone compose it - left the ransom note behind, but killed the girl in the house and left her there in the basement anyway, leaving no opportunity to obtain the money. That is so ridiculous a scenario, it's not even worth considering. All evidence points to the brother, and a cover-up by the parents to protect themselves and the boy. I suspect the boy is a sociopath - his behaviour in the police interviews with him as a child is just astounding. He left balls of his crap in his sister's bed. He was clearly a very abnormal kid.

If he seems nervous, anxious or on the spectrum, etc. Remember, anyone who's lost one sister (I guess step sister) to a tragic car accident and the other sister to a murder by a stranger in his own house, probably ends up having some kinds of mental issues; for him those are socially uncomfortable/social anxiety. To make things worse, then his mum died of dreaded cancer, and don't forget he and his parents have been being blamed by the public hysteria ever since his sister was murdered. I can understand him having social anxiety and stuff.

Totally. When you look at the case with Burke as the culprit it all makes sense. He is a sociopathic, possibly autistic and hated the attention JB received. He is psycho enough to bully and attack JB and smear his own feces on her stuff. He was basically twice her size. He had clear motive and JR and PR had clear motive to cover up the murder he committed. The evidence at house more than supports this conclusion. It is very clear BR killed his sister either in a fit of rage or it was premeditated. Either works because his hatred, which is well documented, was so strong.

Parents were tired kids were tired. Everyone was settling in and preparing for bed. Kids are hyped up because it was a day filled with, gifts, candy, and other yummy treats. Burke probably fixed himself a snack of Pineapple and milk. (He and JonBenets favorite snack. As he sitting at the table JonBenet enters the kitchen and grabs a chunk of pineapple from Burkes bowl (being a typical bratty little sister). This angers Burke. He probably shout at her and she ran. He chases after her and grabs the flashlight from the table with the intention of hurting her with it. (He had no intention of killing her.) Burke was just angry with Jon Benet. He may have felt the got away with a lot. She was the baby and most likely the center of their mothers world because of the pparents. He chases after,, catches up to her at the wine room. (Jon Benet probably thought she could close Burke out of it.and smacks her in the head HARD with the first thing he grabbed which happenedto be the flashlight. I believe it was a "Maglite" style flashlight. He was in a rage if she had pushed a bit too far. He had no idea how hard he had truly hit her. After a bit someoneprobablyasked where she was. When the found her she was already dead. They wanted to find away to cover it up. (Burke had behavioral problems in the past). They send Burke to his room (to have the alibi he had been "asleep" Patty drafts the letter, they call neighbors. Then feel they have their story corroborated enough to call the police. Which is why we hear Burke in the background, (he is trying to figure out how much trouble he is going to be in.) Before the phone was full disconnected we hear the "What have you done?"
