I am definately getting an overload from fat. All of a sudden I started putting on extra weight despite being zero carb. I also still struggle with being satiated, despite adding a sH**Tload of fat. All too often I get other carnivores telling me "you are not eating enough fat" so... a bowl of pure suet, 1 stick of butter and 5 packs of bacon aren't ENOUGH? Done with that. On team PE now. I went from uber ripped but relied on carnivore and excessive fasting, then gained almost 30 lbs during covid by diving into sugar. Lost it again and then some with carnivore and back to excessive fasting. Overdid it with the fasting and binged..this time instead of how I did it during the first covid lockdown, binged on bacon instead of cupcakes. Didn't gain 30 lbs but I did put on 10 and steadily puttting on more , and STILL Hungry. I think I am going to leave carnivore but not low carb. Going to put back in green veggies. Going to stop adding all this excessive fat. Going to give PE a shot and see if I can get this 10 lbs off by doing the PE way of eating. already started two days ago. 1.4 lbs down already. Coincidence? Maybe since I just started. But I am going to give it a shot. What else do I have to lose but fat?

If I fast too much I tend to rebound no matter what I eat. I still do carnivore ish but 2/3 meals a day.

Your story is very similar to mine. Lost 22kg on keto and fasting. Stalled, so upped the fasting and had uncontrollable binging and getting nowhere. On PE nearly a week, no fasting, eating as much protein as I can, but always making sure the fat plus carbs macros are less than protein, day 6 and down 4.2kg(9.2 pounds) in 6 days. After a 9 month stall. I'm singing!!!!❤

Don't restrict carbs for too long or the rebound is worse. I had to learn this the hard way. Personally I prefer to keep proteins and fat fixed, low fat (the right for hormonal balance) and low/high carbs according to the workouts. Also an highcarb dinner opens to a breakfast-skip the day after without any effort. Just don't follow restrictions, follow satiety, no matter how it comes, sometimes small meals spread during the day having enough proteins and carbs are better to keep the hormones in balance and the glycemic curve steady, expecially if you had poor sleep. That day doing a fasting is a bad idea, your cortisol would jump high 😉

Slow carbs with lean proteins are the best to me. I make sure to have nutrient-dense foods as oisters, eggs and liver. Some fatty steak not everyday. The rest is slow carbs, carrots, zucchini, etc. the greens in moderation thou. I feel light and energized daylong and naturally eat less calories. The highfat/lowcarb was a disaster for me

saying gymnasts work out every day but short workouts? all the guys I knew were working out for 6 hours a day. gymnasts worked out more than anyone. but I get the point that it is possible to thrive on short bursts.
@Marco-jx9rr
@Marco-jx9rr 3 жыл бұрын
I'd say if you have time, doing buffer with long rest daylong would be the best. Gymnasts don't push hard 6h a day, they are very careful not to overdo. But if you don't have time and if you restrict energy so much as he suggests...🤔

CGM? I just used a CGM from Libre for a month. It's junk. It always reads 15 to 30 points lower than when measuring my blood.

Ok, that was a little harsh, as it does have value, showing spikes when you eat something you shouldn't. Basically, go by the shape of the graph, and not the absolute value.

I am as healthy as I have ever been except I have limited energy (82 years old). My genetics mean I am almost doomed to be fat. With my diet I have not had a cold for years. I work out every day even though my body rebels at first. I also had a recurrence of prostate cancer about 3 years ago, my lymph nodes swelling. with hormone suppression I completely recovered. Why should I fast since I never allow my blood sugar to rise. With my genetics and my diet I am insulin resistance all the time. see below

If no wild caught available in my area...how much good/bad would it do to me if I'd eat farmed (trout, salmon, mackrel) + sardines in oil daily (in water none available)?

I would say that you are better off eating farm raised fish as opposed to eating the Standard American Diet...so if that is the best option...go for it!

I, like Dr Naiman, eat tinned sardines. But I wonder if they - and the oil in them - are oxidized.
@briangryn3680
@briangryn3680 3 жыл бұрын
Shouldn't be oxidized oils in sardines
@YouTuber-ep5xx
@YouTuber-ep5xx 3 жыл бұрын
@@briangryn3680 Well, reason I wonder is that I hear that bottled fish oil supplements or gel caps, any, are all oxidized. So if that is oxidized, why not the sardines, which are dead and were canned 1,2, 3 years ago, and thus not exactly 'fresh'. To put it another way, does the fact that with sardines the oil remains ensconced within the flesh of the fish - albeit long dead - keep it from oxidizing? I wonder if the oil in tinned sardines has ever been tested for oxidation. Just don't want to take in any oxidized oils at all.

@@richardmiddleton7770 I'm not questioning the oil sardines are packed in, I'm questioning the fish oil in the sardines themselves. Wondering if it oxidizes in the tin before being consumed with the flesh of the fish...
