I like the concept of having different floats for different applications or requirements. When precision matters and close enough just won’t do for carbureted systems 🏁

The carb. tuning series continues . Thank you DragBoss and John. Look forward to more. B.T.W. Many of us are st ill working on Holleys with the older style brass floats. The trickle through the sight plug hole with the engine running provided the engine has a fairly tame idle will get you close. Since most of our rides don't have a tame idle I'm certain John would be happy to set you up with one of his carbs.😊

Bill I’m also still one of those brass float older style guys. Setting the fuel level at rough idle with a radical cam is kinda like a precision compromise or exact estimate 🙈😂.

Thank you Bill, I have never used a caliper to measure float, but does make sense since so many factors affect it. I have always used site plugs. I will have to see if he wants to do a carb challenge against my current nothing special Pro Systems.

I do too the basics. Makes it easier to organize for review. I was going there today, but work called me, so had to go in. We will hook up next week. Cheers right back at you mate. Keep the grinding chip flying. 😎💯🏁🇦🇺

I have seen some fuel bowls have a bottom entry for the fuel to cut down on air bubbles.
@DragBoss351Cleveland7 ай бұрын
Oh yeah, they have that, and wait until I show you the video on how bad aeration can get. Tonight’s video up.

I believe both the fuel viscosity and fuel jet notches effect float level .

Without a doubt. So many factors. Many ways to skin a slick, do what works for you, thanks Michael

Great video, guessing E85 would like a different level then say pump or race fuel because of viscosity?
@DragBoss351Cleveland7 ай бұрын
I know that makes a difference. John said use the caliper. If out at the track, quick changes or checks will use site plug or window. But level affects consistency.
