@@DragBoss351Cleveland I have tried for years to tune my carbs and could never get them to work as I wanted. I have been able to get the idle to work doing what you showed here. I still have a big dead spot right off idle. I will be watching and waiting for the next episode!

Excellent idea! Just some close up shot will make it even better. Like it feels people randomly go 2.5 turns in without seeing how far the slots are exposed and what is right and wrong. 2.5 turns on my holley is way too much but maybe not on an APD.
@DragBoss351Cleveland9 ай бұрын
Yes ,I need to get a better scene, will work on that. Your right, APD are 2.5-3 turns. And most don't examine the carb to begin with in regards to the transfer slots, or compare primary to secondary. Stay tuned

we distribute APD in Australia, these videos will certainly help our customers understand carb tuning better.

Thank you DragBoss, John and Randy. First installment in what promises to be a great informative and helpful series. So many competitors, street warriors and the off-road contingent struggle when it comes to properly setting up and tuning a carb or carbs. If I may offer one constructive suggestion, come in closer on the adjustments as they're being performed. I know you've inserted visual aid photos but active close-ups would be most helpful. Thank you again guys, and everyone please support The DragBoss Garage Channel. So much to learn and DragBoss has so much to share!

Thanks Bill, I agree, I need to improve the scene, working on that. I do think this will make a big difference, and again agree with better close ups. See how it goes, may even repeat the vid. Have a float adjustment next, will be same scene, did it the same day. I will tell the guys the appreciation. I am trying to keep us learning all we can...Stay tuned.

This should be a good series. No offense but I think next time John I think you said his name is (the bigger guy) should maybe explain it also it’s hard to see. I am already pretty good with carbs but I’m gonna watch this to make sure I’m not missing something. I had to relearn everything I forgot when I built my first car in 2017 from the early 90’s. I raised my kids so it was time to do it again! You also need better lighting. I knew what he was doing but for somebody trying to learn it was really hard to see. I converted mine to E85 and now I have to convert to blo-thru because I’m putting my procharger on very soon. Thanks for the vids!

Good stuff for sure, few have commented on scene. Agreed. Doing on the fly, take what I can, be fun for me to do this. Been tuning carbs for 40 years, always seem to learn something though. Still raising my little Bossettes. Stay tuned to DBG, where you’re always seeing and learning something new.

Too many ask questions. Its like this. I like to go fishing. Ive put the time in to learn where to go. People just want me to tell them when and where and what to use fishing. That information costs me money and time and people just expect for you to give it out for nothing. Back in the day. I had many cleveland engines. Bought all sorts and different cams. Experimented. If you want to catch fish, pick a river and explore. I hate reading threads where people ask what cam to use. Buy three of them. See which one works best for you. Stop being lazy.
@DragBoss351Cleveland9 ай бұрын
I can dig what you’re saying Cam. If you want to go fast, learn how. This is a craft and you need to be a craftsman, and a thinker. I will also say that many guys ask me tons of Cleveland questions, I try and help. But no questions take one answer. That takes time, I think for me vids help. So with Cougar hopefully done, can start some of those types of vids. Get going on engines I plan to build. Vids of the engines I have done, hp and ETs. That’s what I did. Build engine, go faster, get more parts. Research and test. Hopefully this will help them to give best customer service.
