Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the latest installment in the open-world RPG series developed by Bioware.
Watch 20 minutes of gameplay from Dragon Age: The Veilguard in this latest video for the upcoming RPG. Here is some additional info. BioWares official canon is that the inquisition wasn’t disbanded and Cassandra is the divine. This game isn’t open world, think dragon age 1 mixed in with 2. This game takes place all over the world, not just 1 country like tevinter.

This seems like a very early demo. Just a few examples: The way it rains inside at 5:20 and how none of the puddles react to foot steps. How demons seemingly run rampant and in-between the characters with no reaction from either Rook or Varric - as if they know they won't be attacked yet as the "intro to fighting" segment with Harding hasn't been completed. How Rook holding the sword looks like someone's first animation attempt just using the hand's default position on the hilt. All together, it looks sloppy.

There is something about the design and color pallette that seems off. The change to the Veil is one of the major things that stuck out to me. It's no longer that distinctive, sickly green color. Maybe it's the setting being Tevinter, but the entire environment looks like a scifi fantasy setting as opposed to the high fantasy settings we got with the previous games. Maybe the other locations will be more classic Dragon Age in pallette and appearance, but the design of Tevinter here is an odd choice. In the previous games, it almost seemed like Tevinter would be like something out of Obsidan's Tyranny than what we have here.

You can swap companions, this is just tutorial showcase. You can edit your companions battle tactics and switch between them. They just turned the companions more into passive so you can get an easier look at your own fighting styles

Gives a slightly better impression than the reveal trailer but still looks considerably worse than what we all hoped for, the combat has been gutted, the demon redesigns look dumb. Doubt I'll purchase this and this is coming from someone who bought all the previous games as well as read several of David Gaider's novels. so DAI got game of the year and was widely praised for returning to Origin like fighting, dialogue and systems. DA2 was mixed at best, didnt win any awards and sold less that DAI or even DAO..... someone please justify the return to DA2 like gameplay and mechanics to me with this info...

Dragon Age has always been about the world, lore, and story for me. DA:I did such a great job of foreshadowing the Elven gods that, seeing two of them emerge at the end, I'll be playing this game for sure- regardless of gameplay.
