The Japanese and PAL Wii versions of Budokai Tenkaichi 2 includes 5 extra characters: Demon King Piccolo, Pilaf Machine, Frieza Solder, Cyborg Tao, Appule, and an extra stage: Outer Space, which were added in all versions of Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

+Sarru Budokai 3 is still a joke of a game from a core fighting game perspective. Super DBZ was popular among the fighting game community for a little while but was quickly forgotten for more polished games. Still, it's far and away the best if you're looking for a traditional fighting game with a lot of depth. Hyper Dimension comes close, but it has too many weird balancing issues like Kid Buu having absurdly high damage combos, but no overheads at all, or Vegeta being able to combo his Desperation Move with itself infinitely.

That’s infinite world, Infinite world isn’t as hated as the guy said. Just look on KZbin for examples. The removal of dragon rush is a good thing, it removes rng or randomness. My only criticism of infinite world is that some of the new character’s ultimate attacks are unblockable. Good game though.

I honestly don't remember the specifics of it, but I too remember having fun with the story mode in Budokai 2. It was more bare in production compared to Budokai 1, but it was a lot longer, and I remember having fun with that at least.

Tenkaichi 3 is the best DBZ game. The fighthing system, the amount of characters, the graphics, and the feel that you are actually playing DBZ. The other ones, look like regular fighthing games with a skin of DBZ.

As you should, it’s not “watered down” budokai 3. Play budokai 3 then play infinite world. IW is much faster and smoother paced, characters have unique moves unlike budokai where they all fight the damn same, the stupid ‘pick a button lol you picked wrong’ mode that the cpu fucking spams over and over is finally gone. Sure no world tournament but it’s the best when playing with friends anyways. I have both and I’m telling you budokai 3 is NOWHERE NEAR as good as IW. Sometimes just take off the nostalgia goggles.

I don't see why people be hatin' on Infinite World... it's not watered down per say, just changed; and even improved in the Fatigue aspect, seeing as you can get fatigue outside of Dragon rush... although... this was highly exploitable if you are playing Teen Gohan with the Super Kamehameha... seeing as it would almost instantly put the fatigue bar on full, giving you time to recharge and redo... yeah, only character that can do that...

But, if you like the simplistic anime style, then I have to agree that Tenkaichi 3 remains very strong. I played the supposed spiritual successors: Ultimate ninja storm 4 and one piece burning blood. Tenkaichi 3 is pretty much superior in every way. It falls more on fan service with these games, not much about the gameplay itself. One Piece is my favorite series among these 3, still, Tenkaichi 3 is by far the better game.

Especially since Infinite World's system was more technical, gave you more options, added Aura Burn, added was to move about faster and easier, all the characters had compete movesets (not half-assed like Uub or Raditz in Budokai 3), the way the capsule system was overhauled made it massively better, removed that god awful Dragon Rush and Hyper Mode crap that used to grind battles to a halt The only real losses in IW were the lack of Beam Struggles and the absense of Kid Goku But all the other character additions made up for it

I remember seeing the first budokai box at EB games and being extremely shocked! Before that game, all I knew about any DBZ game was Final Bout 22 and the GT one- both which were extremely rare and cost around $80 in a local shop nearby. When I saw it just casually placed in the shelve, I picked it up in awe, looked around to see if anybody else saw it and hid it behind another game box because I was too poor to buy anything thinking "oh please let no one else buy this!". Oh the innocence! Needless to say I was immensely happy when my parents finally got it for me. I spent the next few hours before getting home just contemplating the box art and manual, enjoying the smell of each flip of a page which contained images of each playable character (reminiscent of the old Smash Bros games' instruction manual). Oh, those were the good old days :D

Bull to the Shit there my friend. I found that the fighting system was a bit flawed. What I mean is that BT3 was an amazing game which including hundreds of characters from the three series! I just wouldn't say it was the best of them all. But of course that is your opinion, and you are allowed to have one. Btw my fav is Budokai 3 because I played it so much as a child and I just loved leveling up Broly's attack to the max and killing anything that I touched, Oh great memories.

Infinite world really isnt that bad. "Panned by critics" Oh yeah because IGN, Gamespot are such great sources for information. Nevermind the fact that the user score on those websites actually say the exact opposite of the critics. It isnt that fans hate the game, they just dont know about that much. What features did it remove beyond dragon rush (which was a stupid, spammable feature anyway), and beam struggles, (which everybody was fine with in xenoverse but not infinite world), and tournament mode, (unless you had like 5 friends over at once this mode never amounted to anything anyway). You didnt even mention the new cutscenes to make the story heavier. Also, ANY game one the ps2 that came out THAT late in its life cycle was going to sell poorly anyway. What the hell jared?

I personally loved Tenkaichi 2 and 3, they both came with great memories and although they were really difficult to control, once you get the hang of it, it can be extremely intense. The DBZ games were always amazing haha Pretty much any of them, except Ultimate Tenkaichi..

God damn did I have a hard on for Budokai 3. The fight... it was so fun that I had pointless sparring matches all the time! I even devised a system for that one leveling up version in which you only unlock certain attacks/super saiyan modes when you've gained a specific amount of experience. I got so good at it that the only mode I ever played on was Very Hard or Very Strong, something like that. The hardest difficulty available, and even THEN it was extremely rare for me to lose :P I bought and played all three Budokai Tenkaichi games, however none of them ever felt as good, even though they looked better. My 2nd favourite DBZ game is probably Buu's Fury for Gameboy Advanced. Ugh, I remember HATING Super Dragonball Z... I don't think I ever HEARD of DBZ Infinite World! Apparently it came out in 2008. By then, I had completely left my XBOX, PS2, and Gamecube in the dust. XBOX 360 was the way to go. I never owned a PS3, and got a Wii 4 years later, but I never really got into it. Mostly I just played retro games that I bought on it. As for the PS4/XBOX1... all my nope. I'm 110% Computer gamer now, and honestly I wish I had made the transition from console to computer sooner. Once I learned how to mod and install emulators, there was no turning back.

I get the love for Budokai- it seems more traditional for a fighter but I much prefer Tenkaichi 3- way more like the show and it's just wild how the fights get. Gods I FUCKING HATED fighting characters like Videl in the Dragon Arena mode. The AI would do little else beyond spam Dragon Rush. I also found out if you use the "Breakthrough" Skills with Goku and Vegeta to get SSJ4 and their Dragon Rush Ultimates, you can do over 3 full bars of damage if you start it off with a PPPPE combo (to send them off via Kamehameha/Galick Gun) and win all three Dragon Rush rounds. Considering the default HP is 3 bars, you can kill opponents with one combo (and a bit of luck)....

i got budokai 2 on the day it came out on ps2 and gamecube, and it remains my most played fighting game of all time. i never hear anybody aside from myself that actually loved the dragon world mode. i do love the other budokai games, but for some reason budokai 2 stood out to me when it came out, and i still like it a lot, but probably not nearly as much as i did when i was young.

I'm not going to lie, I kinda miss the mechanic from Budokai 3 where you can actually knock a Saiyan out of their transformed state if you hit them while they're in the Stamina Broken status. It always felt like a fair risk. Power up to become a super saiyan and have some pretty beast stats... but if you let your ki get too low an opponent can knock you out of your super state like they could in the show.

Well to be frank, super saiyan/super vegeta from xenoverse somewhat functions the same way as super saiyan in budokai 3. Ki is repeatedly drained and you become more at risk if your ki hits zero. in which not only do you revert to normal and have no ki, but your stamina also empties. Xenoverse 2 wise, super saiyan blue has that property now.

BT3 was my favourite because of how the Story mode worked in battle, it really immersed you into the battle, especially in the What Ifs?, they really made you get into the scenario (I bloody loved that one around the Saiyan uprising, where Vegeta/Fasha/Bardock/King Vegeta all went up against Freeza and gang, especially how Bardock acted throughout, he just rolls in, kicks ass, tags out, goes berserk if Fasha is killed, and is the final warrior to fight Freeza)

How in the name of Kami could any fan of DBZ, let alone the creators of the game, make Goku's signature attack Kamehameha yellow? I mean...didn't someone look at the finished product and ask why the Kamehameha was the wrong colour or why Piccolos Special Beam canon is a harsh purple...I don't get it and would love an explanation. This isn't rocket science guys...the colour of the 2nd most famous attack in gaming history (just behind Ryu's Hadouken) is Blue. Unless Helen Keller was leading the Dev team, how do you fuck that up??? Am I missing something...please, someone help me out if I am.
