Yep. Especially cuz black ppl do exist in the series. They covered this is their watch-along a couple times. It wasn't the most well-scripted scene but anyone that watched the original series would know what 17 meant.

I can't see Goku birdwatching for long before he'd turn to eating said birds. xD That said, I think the biggest difference between Goku and 16 is that Goku loves fighting more than anything else. 16 wants to kill Goku, but that's it. He doesn't like to fight, and only does it when necessary. Kinda like Gohan, actually.

The main general of the Red Ribbon Army was a black person who assisted the leader Red in the OG dragon ball. Popo is not black, he is kami's assistant and there is not much back story with him and where he came from. Another reason that black people are rare in anime is because they are based on manga drawings that are black and white primarily and it takes up alot more ink and time to fill the skin color in at least back when Dragonball was made in the 80s and 90s. This was also a main reason they turned Goku's hair blonde during his Super Saiyan transformation because it was easier to draw than his normal dark shade of hair.

Mat, the Attack on Titan Abridged only has one episode currently, there were numerous behind the scenes occurrences that prevented more episodes from being created. Basically to many eggs in one basket , TeamFourStar already had their plate full with three Abridged series and other channel video projects.

So here is some Piccolo 101 in broad terms without spoilers. Originally there was 1 namekian who basically split himself into 2. A good side and an evil side. Kami was the good. King Piccolo was the bad. King Piccolo used the dragon to regain his youth. Through reasons he birthed Piccolo from an egg he spat up. So naturally coming from the evil side he was kinda evil. Through the events of dragon ball z you see Piccolo becoming a good guy, but he is still only half a being.

Just spitballing, literally only occurred to me just now, but I wonder if the reason grandparents always have hard candies is because they last longer, and they don't get that many visitors. You can have a big pile of them ready to spoil your grandkids, without ever worrying about whether they'll expire before the next visit. Same for like, front desks at hotels or restaurants sometimes. They get more visitors but I feel like most people never take a candy, and you want to make sure the dish is always well stocked and none of it goes to waste.
