There was a really cool possibility that I saw in a comment. Someone said that the reason why the pyro gemstone has a blank name is because their ancient name was destroyed. Maybe xbalanque was defeated by the abyss and his ancient name was destroyed and mavuika might be trying to bring it back or something. The name agni in the gemstone's title could either refer to the hindu god of fire or just fire in general, it could be both. There might be some inspiration for natlan from there as well. Wiki said that in jainism, agni contains the soul and has something to do with rebirth and reincarnation. I honestly don't know much about it, so it's just food for thought.

Hinduism (just like Alchemy, Gnosticism, and Norse Mythology) influences Genshin's overarching narrative. It isn't limited to just Natlan. Inazuma, Liyue, Khaenri'ah, and Sumeru have stuff from it too. But to actually engage with what you were saying, yes, there is a very strong possibility that Xbalanque's Ancient Name was destroyed.

considering a not so old leak, apparently xbalanque has a sort of mentor relation to mavuika that wasn't explained properly in the leak other than being mentioned, so it's highly likely you cooked so well you'll end up getting a michelin star by the end of natlan. also, idk if you have checked it out, but the sword of descension has some interesting traveler and descender lore i rarely see being mentioned so it could be an useful reference for future traveler lore theories! your videos are THE best theory videos out there, by far the most accurate because you have a level of media and mythic literacy most theorycrafting channels don't even hold a candle to, keep up the EXCEPTIONAL work

another very important thing i have noticed is that xbalanque's myth is one of the most famous instances of katabasis, a mytheme that involves the hero journeying to the underworld, often to retreive their loved one or to achieve some sort of revenge or obtain knowledge and/or power. considering we'll definitely go to the night realm of natlan for some abyssal activities and confront someone at its gates as we try to leave, i wonder if that's pretty much the traveler repeating the journey of both mythical and natlantean xbalanque for the same goal as the in-game (possible) god

Ever since Sumeru, Genshin has been following a trend where they release one really strong 5 Star DPS from the Nation's Element along with a 5 Star support from the same Element that perfectly compliments their kit and gives them access to the Resonance. - In Sumeru we had Alhaitham and Nahida. - In Fontaine we had Neuvillette and Furina. I bet Mavuika and Xbalanque are going to be a continuation of this (although, both might be off-field units since we really need those).

Just finished the Natlan AQ and World Quest and needed to tell you that you are a legend. I cannot believe that you were like 80-90% correct. Some of the theories we don't have answers to yet, but I think that the hints point to: [Spoilers to follow] -Sage who stole the fire was not human - Xbalanque is within the primal fire and was the first Pyro Archon. This is speculation, but he probably rescued the Sage along the way and had to go into the Primal fire to hold the Gnosis in it and collect the people's battle energy. -Mavuika is called the Pyro Archon, but why is she mortal then? It could still be possible that she isn't a "full" archon, because the Gnosis is in the fire. Maybe she was just given more control over the primal fire by Xbalanque (making her his successor!) - We don't know if you are right about Xbalanque's resurrection though. Mavuika only tells us that her plan is to bring the heroes together, but that sounds very incomplete to me, she is def hiding stuff. - Your reason for no Pyro traveller looks very likely at this stage. -Capitano is soooo the Father of the Night or whatever they mention in the tablets at the ancient ruins. - Mavuika IS best girl

Here after doing a bunch of the Natlan World Quests, I have to say, I am surprised at how much you got right. - There was indeed a Dragon Sage who stole the Fire and gave it to humanity. His story is told in one of the artifact sets. It differs slightly from what you described but the overall concept is almost identical. - Xbalanque indeed has the power of the Night Soul as you discussed in the video, however, you also talked about the Phlogiston and that one is still unclear. - Mavuika turned out to be a God (you always said that she was a God, but I am including this point because there were people denying this for some reason). - Xbalanque was in fact a friend of the Dragon Sage who stole Fire like you predicted. - The Primal Fire comes from the Light Realm, but that was honestly a given.

Banger video! I wanted to point something out that I found interesting; I think we've seen something mirroring the tale of Prometheus in Genshin before: Egirea and and the original sin. This bears a more striking resemblance to Mary Shelley's famous novel, Frankenstein, which is also described as "the modern day Prometheus". All three have a similar premise: Prometheus stole the fire, and both Victor and Egirea endowed things that shouldn't have been living with the "fire of life". All three also suffered greatly for their decisions, Zeus sent the vulture, Frankenstein killed all Victor's loved ones, and Fontaine was slapped with prophecy. Like you said, Genshin's Prometheus also probably suffered as a result of his actions. Looking back on all this, it makes it seem like Teyvat is ramping up for a massive scale rebellion of some kind... Edit: just looked at the second name card you get for reputation in Natlan, it pretty much confirms the pyro dragon is Prometheus bit.

I like the prediction that Mavuika isn't the pyro archon. We have every indication that she is: she is the leader of Natlan, she doesn't need a vision, Il Capitano thinks she has the gnosis, and her hair glows. Almost everyone takes for granted that she is the pyro archon, but there is one problem: Mihoyo has not told as for a fact that she is the pyro archon. There's not a single line in any video or in the livestream stating that as a fact. I think that's going to be one of the main plot twists.

Spoilers below There was a period of time during the quests that I thought Mavuika was just an "acting" archon and not the real deal, especially when the Wayob mentioned "the Pyro Archon" as the one who came up with the plan to defeat the Abyss. At that point I thought "Aha! The real archon is the one from 500 years ago!" But then the twist came, and it turned out that Pyro Archon was Mavuika herself! I didn't see it coming, even after looking at the statues looking just like her. Still I believe that there will be more surprises after this. From what I understood, the Pyro Archon acts like an "Avatar" (as in Avatar the last Airbender or the legend of Korra). A human can receive both power and memories from the original archon which I understood would be Xbalanque (not 100% sure). There's a good chance the original archon returns and Mavuika remains a human, maybe with a vision à la Furina.

My take... The archonhood in Natlan is a title passed on from one champion to another when the previous archon finds someone worthy of receiving the title. Archons in Natlan are not immortal. instead they live and die hence Mavuika is looking for someone to inherit her title... This changing of titles was a long standing tradition and many humans have since then ascended to celestia to become the pyro archon during their lifetime. it is also the reason why vanessa does not know who Murata is since Murata has long since been dead before Vanessa was born... Also the reason why the traveler cannot resonate with the pyro statue is because the authority is sealed. Xabalanque is the pyro sovereign and he was sealed away with his autority. the archon is the guardian of this seal. the archon resonates with the seal and receives power from it allowing them to perform their godly duties... the archon story will most likely be like this... mavuika is the latest of the archons currently in power and is the last archon before the fall of natlan as prophesized. desperate to find a way to save natlan, she hears of what has happened in fontaine and has gained the knowledge that the abyss can be defeated and sealed by a dragon sovereign (as demonstrated by neuvillette who was acknowledged by skirk who is a being of the abyss to be of great power). Mavuika gained this knowledge from the saurians of Natlan as all dragons are linked and they came to the knowledge that the hydro sovereign has been reborn at full power. betting on this knowledge she holds the annual championship to collect as much power as she can just like what focalors did to destroy the seal of the pyro sovereign. however the power collected during the championship is not enough. so she colludes with the fatui. a battle to the death between the strongest human vs the pyro archon and her death should generate enough energy for the seal to be destroyed... the whole plot is basically collect as much energy as she can through the power of her people and add to that a battle between hr and capitano and her death would be enough power to unseal xabalanque. the succeeding archon quests will be for xabalanque to find a way to resurrect mavuika as a way for thanking a human who sacrificed her life to set him free. hence the incandescent ode to resurrection.

it was confirmed in kinich tribe reputation quest that Xablanque is the first pyro archon idk if it's related, but they did say a guy named "Yupanqui" is the one who stole the fire only to end up getting swallowed by it. And this same fire still burning till this day...

I don’t think Yupanqui was the one who initially stole the primal fire and gave it to humans. A dragon with a very long name I forgot stole the fire from the pyro sovereign to help humans develop. Later, we have Xbalanque who rescued an imprisoned half-human half-dragon guy named Och-kan from Natlan's dragons, and Och-kan then followed Xbalanque (Och-kan is referred to in the 4-star weapon Earth Shaker's story as a half-human hero). Och-kan became a tyrant after Xbalanque died, and Yupanqui stole the fire (again) from him to rescue the people. (P.S.: I saw this from another video who summarised Natlan's history.)

Ochkanatlan is the large tower to the Norht-West of main Natlan, also a taboo ground where nobody has ever returned from. I have not gotten much story done yet but my toery on why pyro travaler is locked away right now is this... Most of the natlan native characters that we play as has some kind of connection to something that lets them use the energy of fire as a conduit. Traveler has only just meet the dragon we named and has yet to make a deep connection with it. Once we are able to set out on the quest to get the little guys power unlocked it will complete the connection with the land of pyro to let us use him to channal nightstands and ploguststone though the little guy

Well, now it makes sense how Mavuika put her power into the fire. She never was the true Pyro Archon, but had the gnosis to draw power from. Now the gnosis is inside the fire, so she has nothing left as she doesn't even have a vision like Furina.

Since we found out that the wayob have some association with the leylines, I had wondered if maybe they were diverting the power from the leylines away from the statues of seven in Natlan. I have a theory on why it happened. It's because the Pyro element will only be unlocked in the final chapter of the story When the Pyro Archon will give the Gnosis to the traveller and not to the Fatui. Because if the Fatui have the last Gnosis, what is there to stop Tsaritsa's Plan of Rebelion against the Heveanly principles. Also, it will move the story forward for the next nation, Schneznaya if the Traveler has the Pyro Gnosis by the end the Fatui will focus solely on the Traveler to get it no matter what and what a better advantage in the Home nation of the Cyro Archon. The biggest evidence that I have was from the very beginning when Dainsleif explained the Nation of War is. "THE PYRO ARCHON SHARED HER SECRETS WITH THE TRAVELLER". And to my understanding with that level of trust to be able to sharre her deepest secrets to the traveller has a high chance of the Pyro Archon to rely and depend on Aether/Lumine for the future of the people in Natlan.

To me Maviuka looks like phoenix, stepping into the role of archon in the absense of a true pyro sovereign. I said that before Natlan came out, and i still stand by it today. We know Phoenix exists from the Lavawalker artifact set, and we have her canonically rising again after 500 years of slumber in the sacred flame as depicted in the Natlan main quest. Did i miss anything?

What i got from reading lore is that Xbalanque is going to revive from the crimson heart in Dragonspine. Dont know if this is true, but it would make sense. Maybe he is evil now too. Dont take my word for it though. My guess is that mondstads new region is going to eventually tie into the Natlan questline and Bennett is somehow going to get involved

Nah, no Archon = No Traveler element makes no sense imo. Travelers kit references the Dragon Sovereigns and not the Archons. That should mean it's the Dragon Sovereign who is missing, maybe because he currently can't be reborn because... oh idk, his Ancient Name may have gotten erased, perhaps. Either way there is nothing suggesting Mavuika isn't the Pyro Archon I feel and in it's raw form BEING the Pyro Archon is simply possessing the Pyro Gnosis, which she has, and being the Nations Leader. So I feel like she just checks all the boxes, all the way from Powerlevel down to the unique Eye Design. Also, ancient names don't only play a role in Natlan as we learned with Simulanka. So yes, Pyro Dragon will be revived, another Pyro Archon makes no sense, we already got one.(Though both could happen if Xbalanque is the Pyro Dragon Sovereign AND the first Pyro Archon but... dunno)

Agreed. Think Traveler's kit is more connected to Dragon Sovereigns then to the Archons. Personally have hypothesis on who they could be, but thats more speculation for most part.

I may have not undertood the relationship of Neauvillette with all of this but... If dragons are the source of the Traveler's powers, why Traveler has Electro? Electro Archon killed the dragon so... Doesn't matter if there's no Fire Dragon I guess.
